Building an App Based on External Libraries

Post by DanShafer » Sat Apr 30, 2016 10:11 pm

I'm about to embark on a new type of project for me, one that will involve connecting to existing libraries (code and data) for most of the base functionality but where LC would provide the cross-platform transport mechanism that would enable deployment everywhere. Something like treating LC as a scripting/glue language with a great xplat UX.

I don't want to go into much detail, not out of secrecy but in the interest of keeping the question and replies more general and therefore usable by others over time. But as an example, what if I wanted to glue together the code in the Google Web Speech API and the Voxforge Open Speech Corpus, which is a massive container of decoding stuff associated with speech recognition.

Anyone with experience doing such a project have any thoughts, cautionary tales, pointers or encouragement?
