I've been trading a lot of emails with him, so missing communication is not the problem, he just does not want to pay!

Lesson learned: when a fella who holds no advanced degree in mathematics nor security certifications publicly claims to have invented "the world's most secure cryptocurrency" in a world where the leading minds in the field don't dare use such hyperbole, issues may be discovered with the viability of the underlying business model.

Well, you cannot be too choosy if you are unemployed for a very long time.
And the first invoices had been paid in time.

My apologies, Klaus. I didn't mean to suggest you were remiss. It's the client company and their investors that seem to have missed this.

I've never been a VC or angel, nor seriously pursued outside investment. But I'm continually surprised by the biz plans they'll throw money at.

Seems all one needs to get investment these days is to toss around the word "cryptocurrency" and suddently it's the 90s dot-bomb bust all over again, money dropping from heaven with no clear plan to ever repay it. ("We don't need revenue, we'll have mindshare!"). :)
