no webcam image in Windows 10 [SOLVED]

Post by Johan_VH » Wed Aug 23, 2017 3:37 pm

I made a desktop application that shows the webcam attached to the computer. It works fine in Windows 7 Professional, but in Windows 10 Professional the image is just black.

Are there any plugins, drivers, codecs, whatever that need to be installed? The webcam works just fine in the Logitech software, VLC and standard Windows 10 Camera app. What I'm thinking right now is that it has to do with the fact that we are forced to use VFW and the other programs (VLC for sure) use DirectShow?

I already installed VLC and it's standard codecs and the LAVFilters 0.690

Thanks in advance for any help!

After having installed several codecs, I finally found the package that solved it: https://www.codecguide.com/download_k-l ... k_mega.htm
