Image Color reduction and memory usage

Post by capellan » Fri Feb 17, 2017 12:20 am

Hi All,

I know that using Color Reduced Images in stacks reduces stack's disk size (images with less colors also occupy less space in disk) but... Using Color Reduced Images in LiveCode reduces memory use too?

Check this webpage to learn technical details:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_quantization

Notice please, this question is not about color reduction of highly compressed jpeg images like examples from this webpage:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JPEG
where you could find a 81k image reduced to just 1k
