Re: live webinar issues

Ideally, I'd like to be able to download and watch the lesson video on Friday and spend Tuesday in a full hour long Q&A. This would give me time to work through the lesson over the weekend and formulate questions ahead of time. The sound problems today were even worse than last week. I had to bail o...

Re: LiveCode crashes a lot

If you can come up with a recipe, for any problems with the Project Browser please post here or file a bug report and we will investigate. I'm using the Project Browser with the thumbnails turned on. I'm finding that when I click on the thumbnail or the label in the layer, the Project Browser behav...

Re: Can't get alt - double click to work

I've discovered a work-around/hack to get the double click resizing to work again. With the group selected I went into the Property Inspector > Basic Properties and toggled "Border" on. The double click resizing worked, and then I turned the border off. Now I can resize the buttons again without tur...

Where is the eBook academy? Was it part of the Summer School package? I only see Sheepherder, App, and Game academies.

Re: LiveCode crashes a lot

I don't know if this will help give RunRev a clue, but when the Project Browser starts to display weird, random behaviors (like layer views disappearing, or getting cropped off, or the mouse not letting go of a layer and starts dragging it up and down the list) I find that if I close the Project Bro...

Re: Can't get alt - double click to work

I'm having the same problem too. It was working before, in fact I had done it a few times. Now all of a sudden it doesn't work. I've tried it with the Mobgui tab bar buttons, the Mobgui buttons, and the LC buttons. I tried it in both the 6.1 version of LC and the newer 6.1.1 (rc 3) version. None of ...

Re: Is there a newer version of the LiveCode User Guide?

However if you google UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities, you'll get information on all of them from the Apple iOS developers library site. Thanks BvG, that explained it. Apparently its a way of generating keys your app may need. Maybe a new LC User Guide will come out with the new release. thanks! Henry

Re: LiveCode crashes a lot

All I was doing was closing a script window on which I had already pressed the Apply button. I'm using OSX 10.8.4 also and find LC to be buggy. I normally crash when I put something in a script that is not part of the LC syntax (which is why I keep looking for a resource on proper use of the syntax...

Re: Problem changing Mobgui button from gradation to flat co

Alright, I figured part of it out... In the Inspector under Custom Properties is a property called uMobGUIClass. Below that in "Property Contents" is what appears to be the name of a style: iosButton1 So apparently styles can be applied to these Mobgui elements? I'm assuming its a style because of t...

Re: App Ideas

Hi mkculp, The tricky issues (in my mind) are scrolling the window around to look at other places Actually this one is easy in LC. When you get to it, ask here in the forums. Simon mkclp, I like the idea for your app a lot. I can totally see this being useful at big, Summer music fests. I saw a tut...

Problem changing Mobgui button from gradation to flat color

Hi all, I'm having a problem trying to change the look of the Mobgui button. I don't want the gradated, beveled look. I want it to look like a flat, solid color. I can select just the background (of the group "button") and change it, but when I run the app in the LC Run Mode, or the iOS Simulator, o...

Is there a newer version of the LiveCode User Guide?

Hi RunRev, The version of the LiveCode User Guide I downloaded is dated 2010. It doesn't have any info about iOS and Android in it. Is there a newer version? I'm trying to find out what "Requirements and Restrictions" are for, and how to set it up (see attached). Is this something that will be cover...

Re: Splash or not to splash?

You're right, Apple's guidelines say to go right into the app and omit a splash screen as a best practice. With some large apps it takes a while for things to load though, and if there is no splash screen the screen will just be black for a while. The user might freak out and think its broken, so in...

Re: What am I doing wrong with Lesson 2?

Did you ever get it to work? I have had some quirky things happen with the Project Browser too. The icons in Resources are bigger than the icons used in the demo. The demo icons are aoubt w19 x h20. Sounds like you could take the bigger icons you have and make them smaller in the Inspector, or just ...

Re: Lesson 3

It happened, but with some technical difficulty in the beginning. It ran a little late and as it is the end of the day for them there in England they might not have had time to put everything up. I keep looking for it too because it was really complicated and I'll need to see it again a couple times...
