Re: 6.0
Hi Brahmanathaswami, right now this only works on livecode primitives (the graphic object if the to line or polygon). This could indeed be very cool, but for now the scope is limited. Also setting the points of a graphic is a rather costy operation in terms of clockcycles. So for now it would only b...

Re: HTML 5 and XML Parsing externals
Ken Ray has a liveCode Script only library to deal with XML. I prefer the external on Desktop, but this could move you forward for your web app...

Hi Mark,
I sent you an updated version off list. If that works for you I will make it official. Just let me know.

Re: AE expired cached objects
Hi Mark,
would you mind sending me a test stack to malte@derbrill.de? I could then take a look what is happening. It might be that the housekeeping in AE is not completely correct.
Thanks,
Malte

Re: Are widgets supposed to work?
Hi Peter,
I tried to create a simple stack just sporting a tree widget. This does not get loaded but just tells me to check the console (Mac, FF, Chrome, Safari)
No fancy scripts, just the widget with 3 nodes and 2 leafs each.

Are widgets supposed to work?
Hi,
I am trying to build a simple test for the Tree widget to no avail. Is it supposed to work in DP11?

Moin Hermann,
awesome that you point this out, as this really makes a difference! Now if you could quickly explain what you did to get a nicer progress bar I would be really really grateful! (as in, what did you need to change to display a different progress bar)
All the best,
Malte

Re: Successful test
Hermann, I must admit I only now got around to look at your examples. It appears to load much faster than the previous versions? Also how did you create the very nice different progress indicators for download? This is really cool!

6.0
Hi all, ae 6 is out! http://www.derbrill.de/animationEngine6.zip The download comes with a tiny demo stack that demonstrates the new stuff. The documentation also has been updated. For those of you that do not know what animationEngine is: animationEngine is a dual licensed animation library for liv...

animationEngine 6
Hi forum, please excuse this rather lengthy post, but I am quite excited... I almost had let this slip, but I just couldn’t. animationEngine turned 10 years old this months! If there is a good time to do an update, then I guess the tenth birthday is an opportunity I can not miss. So without further ...

Re: First animationEngine test
The fun part is that I did not need to do anything to make it work.
This example exposes a memory leak in the JS engine, which I already reported, but besides that I am still really impressed it works so nicely.
All the best,
Malte

Re: What does single-stack mean?
I read it as a single stack file (no external stacks to that file) which may contain substacks used as libraries. As I have successfully build such a beast (a stack containing a substack used as a library) I would expect it to be a bug if you can not move from card to card, or something throwing a s...

Re: First animationEngine test
Thanks guys! I really just dug out something I would think would push the engine a little. :-) I am really really surprised it works as well as it does in this early stage already. For the long load time: I really hope this will be optimized and that instead of the spinner we could get a progress ba...

First animationEngine test
Hi, I (somewhat successfully) compiled an animationEngine test now. I am surprised this does work at all in this early state. Findings: On my somewhat underpowered interims PC it is considderably slower than on the desktop. And it largely varies between browsers. That said: Still surprised it works ...
