Re: sending a Backspace to a on Keyup commnd
Hi All, I decided to refactor some old code that has been working for a few years and used the select and insert method on the focused object. I thought rawkeyup or keyup would make it easier so started with that and kept getting a cant find handler error. I did a search and found this thread using ...

Re: What Users want from the next version of LiveCode
HI All, I didn't know I would have to come on here and explain myself. I have had a PM with the title Criminals? Asking if I meant to link to a Cartoon criminal. First off I would have to go to see my doctor If i managed to link to a specific video by accident. But secondly I never thought of Dick D...

Re: [SOLVED] Something is not right with my data
Hi, I have learn't a few things the hard way over the years. 1. If your program doesn't make sense it's your DATA. 2. Try switching it on and off again. 3. It Work better when you plug it in. 4. Murphy's law - "If it can go wrong it will" 5. "If it ain't broke don't fix it." 6. No Programs are fool ...

Re: A stack "revCursors" is already in memory
Hi All, I used to get it every so often but I think I worked out what it was but can't remember if it happened every time. It seemed to happen 99% of the time when I "SAVED" with a different name (for safety/backup/milestone) and then decide to create a standalone straight after. What I always do no...

Re: Would you fund a campaign for a better livecode website?
I have to put my Oar in here. First off - they have a person that looks after the website - he is paid to Market and do the website. I don't see much of either. Goto xojo.com and b4x.com these sites are how it should be done. https://www.xojo.com/ https://www.b4x.com/ B4x has now gone opensource for...

Re: How to deal with database files for an app?
simple answer - and not enough storage place or time is not an excuse. 1, You backup daily or whenver the time to renter data is much more than the time to backup 2. you backup at the end of the week (or only at the end of the week) 3. then a monthly backup at the end of the year you save all the mo...

On The Mac and IOS there is no problem we just use set the htmltext of the widget and then show the widget. On windows for some reason the htmltext shows for a split second th...

Re: Getting Snakey
Hi Richmond, The canonical use case (for me at least) for the upper function is when you ask for an entry and you have allowed upper and lowercase. So the user enters "Fred" for his name. If you want to test for a fred (you don't allow freds to use your program), you can test for "Fred" or "FRed" or...

Re: revCursors magically attaches to my stacks
Hi Richard, I would'nt say its 100% foolproof because if memory serves, whenever I "savesas" to change the name (not the first time) and then I did a compile more often than not the problem surfaced - so I make sure if I do a "saveas" I exit LC and come back in - which is why I went for over a year ...
