Re: Android MOBgui not showing up

Hi

It does look like you just need to update the version of MobGUI that you have, you can do this by clicking the Check for Updates button in MobGUI, second from the right in the top bar, looks like a refresh button.

The latest version is 0.29.

I hope that helps.

Kind regards

Re: Database to Data Grid and back again - best methods

Hi EOTR

This is a really good suggestion, we will start adding links to additional resources to the document that accompanies the video each week.

Thanks for pointing out how useful this would be.

Kind regards

Re: Can't get alt - double click to work

Hi EOTR Each type of MobGUI control responds differently to alt-double click, for example tab buttons get wider to fill the space, left buttons align themselves 10 pixels in from the left of the stack and buttons are horizontally centered. The MobGUI documentation explains how each control type resp...

Lesson 2 Note

Hi All Just a quick note as someone pointed out a small mistake in the video. At one point I set the SQLite option button to be the default meaning it is selected whenever you go to the card. Later I realised this was incorrect as if you go to Contact Details or Add Contact you want the option you l...

Hi Yesterday someone asked for an example of getting a signature on mobile, I have uploaded a small example here , I hope this is what was wanted. The example creates a polygon graphic to represent the signature and follows the mouse/touch position to update the graphic. You can export the signature...

Datagrid and iOS Native Scroller

Hi Someone had asked for an example of using a datagrid with a native scroller. I have uploaded an example here . This populates a datagrid, which is with a MobGUI scroller, sets the height of the datagrid to the maximum necessary for all records to be shown the resets the top of it so it is in the ...

Re: Can't get alt - double click to work

Hi I have noticed that if I close MobGUI and re-open it from the Development -> Plugins menu then alt-double click seems to start working again. That might be worth a try, if it helps please do let us know as it might point to the cause of the issue. This has been reported as a bug in the Quality Co...

Android Navigation Example

Hi all A few people have asked for an example of an Android tab style navigation as this is not one of the MobGUI options. I have uploaded a sample stack here . The example mirrors what we have been doing in the Summer School App as closely as possible, there is a group of buttons called "navigation...

Re: LiveCode crashes a lot

Hi everyone If you can come up with a recipe, for any problems with the Project Browser please post here or file a bug report and we will investigate. If you think it might be the thumbnails causing the problem you can turn these off in the preferences and see if that makes a difference. Thanks Elanor

Re: Issue with Lesson 2 Icons

Hi all Sorry, I must have neglected to mention this. Because the icons are addressed by filename you need to include them in the Copy Files pane of the Standalone Application Settings, so they are included in the app bundle. You also need to ensure that the pathnames are relative to where the icons ...

Re: Scroll n swipe

Hi desert1

You can detect and handle a swipe gesture yourself in code, there is a section on doing this in this lesson this lesson. This is also discussed in the eBook Academy, Lesson 4, which you should have access to in your account.

Re: Scrolling and scrolling

Hi desert1 LiveCode scrolling uses scrollbars, as you would get in a desktop app. The native mobile scrollers, for iOS and Android, allow you to use the built in scrollers on those platforms, with the scrollbars that show when you touch the screen, the ability to scroll around the group my moving yo...
