Toronto Meetup
Inspired by the other LiveCode meet-ups being organized recently I was wondering if there are LiveCode Developers in the Toronto and GTA area who would like to get together in the next couple of weeks. I have been offered a space to host at a local centre that supports new ventures and entrepreneurs...

Re: mergExt rebranding
I actually like mergExt. Adding 'merg' prefix to the externals gives continuity to the product line. So if you come up with a new name it should be able to serve the same function. One I thought of was a made up word, innovext,i.e. innovation and extern the innovext.com domain is available it does w...

Re: Constants at Server vs. IDE
I have a couple of bugs regarding Livecode Server and On-rev Editor that I would like to post but I am not sure what component to post them under. It seems there is not an existing one that matches. I posted a bug about about that for the QCC. THe bug number is 9653. Regarding Livecode Server I aske...

secure FTP to on-rev server best practice
I have been trying to use SFTP to connect to the on-rev.com server when I am uploading and managing files for a site hosted on on-rev. I have not been able to connect via SFTP. I have tried with Interarchy and Cyberduck. I get a connection refused message. With Cyberduck I can connect with FTP-SSL (...

Re: Recording video from webcam
Hi I use revvideograbber in a desktop application and am planning to move it to the web eventually. There are some peculiarities with revvideograbber that need some attention. One with the preview not working in the revlet I think this may be an issue with how revlets are limited to only showing the...

Corrupted icons and OSX video playback
Hi. I just started experiencing the same problem on my iMac G5. In one of my searches I found a post that points to faulty capacitors in the video card as a problem. http://forums.macosxhints.com/archive/index.php/t-102724.html This is not the first hardware problem I have had with my iMac G5. I rec...

checking file busy/in use status
I am trying to figure out how to determine if a file has been opened by a revolution standalone so that another user running the standalone on a networked Mac won't be able to open it and edit it. Oh I see how that works. If there is just the one type in the command it will not show anything in the file dialog. if I have the two types then there is a pull down menu called 'Enable:' with the two options, in this case 'Description' and 'All files' Thanks to both of you for your help on this. Ma...

Thanks for the quick reply. One further question about the type values. The first value you put is 'Description'. What is this used for and what should you put here. I did not see the word 'Description' anywhere in the file dialog. Is this text that I use to describe the type of file or is it a pred...
