Re: Stack allready in memory
I'm encountering an issue when transitioning from one stack to another. A message keeps popping up, indicating that the second stack is already in memory. Despite closing and removing both stacks from memory, restarting the process doesn't resolve the problem. These are two distinct stacks, and non...

Re: Notepad and livecode
Mark Waddingham did a nice write-up on this a while back: https://livecode.com/best-practice-for-api-keys-and-security/ Yeah…. It was a rhetorical question pointing out that hashed passwords sounds good but can’t be used for everything. I've rarely regretted mistaking a question for being earnest. ...

Re: Notepad and livecode
Don't store passwords. Store only salted hashes of passwords. I do this wherever possible. However if you need to submit things like private API keys to existing online services out of your control, how does this work? Mark Waddingham did a nice write-up on this a while back: https://livecode.com/b...

Re: How to detect CMD-V in the SE
Exercise for the brave reader: start in the SE's File menu, and manually trace out the chain of calls from the case block in menuPick for the Save item.

Re: The mergePopActivity feature is unable to attach an image and title.
??? The problem is not the name but that it is only available for iOS! So I'm not sure what you are talking about in this context. :D I missed the platform detail, which I agree is an unfortunate limitation in a product where the greatest advertised strength is multiplatform deployment. I w...

Re: The mergePopActivity feature is unable to attach an image and title.
After a second look into dictionary I found this, which may explain your problem... 8) mergPopActivity.png Acquiring third-party components has been a win-win for the platform. Choosing to not unify their naming after acquisition has been a problem. No new user can be expected to know what the pref...

Re: Android Studio - Additional JDK not needed (Solution to Java is none error)
Take a look at B4A how beautiful they integrated this sh*t in their 100% free program (also for commercial use). Install Java JDK, install Android Studio, start B4X and add/upate all needed sdk from within, no need to open Android Studio. LC could win so much users by making it even more easier, sa...

Re: Error opening Livecode
On android (Samsung Internet browser) on the livecode.com site there's a hamburger menu in the top bar. Opening that shows the login option near the bottom of the page of menu items, to the right of the button for starting a trial. Ah, thank you. It's the tiny text next to the big blue button. Not ...
