Clarify use of "add preopenCard code to card script"?
I just watched the mobGUI.com doc video on tab bars and buttons. It is almost identical to the buttons we made for our summer school stack. However, that presenter never did check the box in mobGUI for "add preopenCard code to card script" and his stock ran in the Simulator just fine. Is this becaus...

Re: lesson two - stack
I don't remember hearing there is a copy of the stack available, but it would sure be helpful. If you log into your RunRev store account, you can see all the pieces-parts that came as part of the summer school bundle. I see the app templates and icons but nothing to do with the stack. The logical pl...

Strategy for following live lessons
This may be a dumb comment! But after having experienced three live lessons now, I think I see how I, at least, am going to have to organize myself. By necessity the presenter has to go pretty fast. I find that if I'm trying to follow along in my own stack during the live lesson, I screw my stack up...

Re: Can't See The Bottom Of My Stack
Never mind, even the iPhone template is bigger than my screen.
Elanor, is there a reason the stack window is not scrollable? In the Simulator it is...

Re: Can't See The Bottom Of My Stack
I found the messagebox to be the most convenient way to switch from the top to the bottom of my stack on my MacBook Pro 13". But I think, till the resolution independence project is done at the end of the month, I might switch to an iPhone template

Re: Lesson One -- Buttons become White after first test
My buttons did the same thing. But when I re-watched that part of the video, Elanor's did too (at 2:55 from the end). We will probably fix the button visuals in a later lesson, likely by assigning a graphic to each button.

Re: iOS Simulator
I am also having trouble with the blankety-blank "Unable to start simulation: iOS-Simulator could not install the app" error. I finally got rid of that error by going to the File menu in LC, choose Standalone Application Settings, click on iOS in the top toolbar, and choosing 3.1.3 or later. I beli...

Re: iOS Simulator
Additional data-point: more testing shows that this problem ONLY seems to happen when I have a MobGUI control in the stack. I took it out, and can open the simulator OK under 6.1, but if I add it back in, then the error returns. Other stacks that were never touched by MobGUI appear to open OK under...

Re: Summer School question
I think it's also important to point out that the commercial LiveCode license is an annual subscription. In other words, your $499 commercial license is only good for one year. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong…

Re: Participant Introductions
Hi guys (and so far you are all guys?), my name is Colleen. I'm a Macintosh consultant in Jackson, Wyoming, USA. I saw a notice on Macintouch about the Kickstarter campaign for LiveCode; it had me at mention of HyperCard, and I donated. I *loved* HyperCard; my most satisfying accomplishment was a ge...

Re: MobGUI
Thanks so much, I was having the same problem. In Preferences/Files & Memory the path to User Extensions should be /Users/[username]/Documents/My LiveCode
My default path had /Plugins at the end. Deleting that part fixed the problem.
