Re: Linux Mint or Linux Ubuntu for Livecode

Here's a little test stack I cobbled together to play media files using mplayer or SMplayer as a proof of concept (note that you have to install either of these yourself). They work differently in the LC environment, and unfortunately neither one is tied to the parent stack because LiveCode doesn't...

Re: Stack stopped working

Many times a 'local' declaration outside a handler (ie a script local variable) does a similar job for all handlers in that script and may be a better choice depending on what scope you need... Another good option would be a custom property, which if you need it to retain it's value even after the ...

Re: How do I save in HTML5?

Well, just quickly looking at it, set the folder to... should actually read set the default folder to... also, "the platform" doesn't cover nearly as many entries as you have.... The possible values returned by the platform function are: "Win32" on any version of Windows "Linux" on all Linux distrib...

Re: Linux Mint or Linux Ubuntu for Livecode

Thanks Mark, that it probably started around 8.x explains why it wasn't coming to my mind. Fascinating. Since I installed 9.6.2 on the trinity facing vm to look at the other question Paul asked, I might as well install mplayer on it and explore player problems there as well heh. Not like I'll solve ...

But... you should be aware that in moving from Window$ to linux there are some caveats as far as things that don't work or may not work. Printing ... ... ...Player controls ... Printing doesn't work on 'nix ? When did that get fouled up? I thought the player works if you had one particular player, ...

Re: Windows app certification

Yes, I admit to being a lazy wimp in that regard. What is this "lazy wimp" stuff? Heck, back when I used to program for Win, we used to just distribute a zip file or, if we were feeling really fancy, a self executing zip file! I send stuff to my wife all the time to run on her Win7 box, frankly, I ...

Re: Linux Mint or Linux Ubuntu for Livecode

The Pi is a single user (me) and I'm constantly changing OSes right now while testing it anyway, I don't need multi-user... But that's besides the point, I'm saying that this easy way to make the Linux installer install, using the installer, and have it add shortcuts etc. in the process. I suppose ...

Re: Linux Mint or Linux Ubuntu for Livecode

I was recently using LC IDE (6.5.x & 7.0.1) on Pi 3B+ with default install of latest Raspbian (built on Debian for ARM). Needed to install for "me only" as Richmond said. Erm, you mean chose to install for you only as an easy alternative to elevating your permissions, right? There is nothing inhere...

Re: browser still broken on linux, or just me?

Erm, just to be clear to anyone who stumbles across this thread that may be new to LC on Linux: I'm not running LC on one of the approved Linux platforms, so the above isn't super surprising. Mildly disappointing, but not surprising. I really don't think that would make much difference, but I will ...

Re: Windows: finding out whether a folder is a junction point

I can see how one could do this using the Shell command and then reading the results of a dir command in the Windows shell, but it would be handy if LiveCode has a built-in function that can do this. I actually went and learned how to even create a junction folder, just to see what you were talking...

This is pretty late in coming, I had originally sent it as a pm but just found out it was never opened. Ok, I may not be seeing the entire thread. out Hey man, I was only kidding around, sorry if I offended you somehow, but I never meant for you to quit the thread :( Again, my humblest apologies.
