Well, thanks to your help, I've come one step closer ; the console log doesn't complain about libdl1.dylib anymore *cheers* However, now I'm stuck at: dyld: Library not loaded: /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.6.dylib Referenced from: /Library/WebServer/CGI-Executables/Revolution Reason: image not found It loo...

Re: Dave Cragg
an, I've been successfully using db calls to MySQL with Rev cgi on OS X. The darwin engine I use reports a version of 2.5G. I don't recall when or where I obtained it. But it came with its own driver for mySQL. In this version, I believe the DB externals are compiled inside the engine. Let me know ...

Re: Using Quartam Reports
Hi Ed, As the stack traversed a few platforms before it got to your computer, it is possible that it's missing the metadata necesary for MacOS X to pick it up as a Rev stack. In that case, hold down the option-key (or alt-key) when you click the little folder icon. That should enable it for selectio...

Re: Using Quartam Reports
Hi Ed, Step 1 is ensuring that Revolution can find the report printing library - this is the file qrtReportsLib.rev. The easiest way is to add this stack to the stackFiles of your mainStack. Go to your mainStack, open the Stack Inspector from the Object menu ; use the option menu at the top to pick ...

Re: revOpenDatabase on Linux
Hi Riccardo, If you keep getting this error inside the IDE, I'm not sure what is causing it - you shouldn't have to change the database driver path in the IDE. That being said, it looks like you have the correct (lowercase) name, so that should work. The only other thing I can think of right now, is...

Re: revOpenDatabase on Linux
Hi Riccardo, The good news is that it does work on Linux - though setting things up can be tricky, especially to make the engine find the database drivers. While this should work fine within the Rev IDE, it is still a good thing to check. From an old post by Mark Waddingham on the use-rev list: The ...

Re: How about Linux
The good news is that it does work on Linux - though setting things up can be tricky, especially to make the engine find the database drivers. From an old post by Mark Waddingham on the use-rev list: The Revolution 2.5 (and up) Linux engine has both revXML and revDB embedded within it, so the extern...

Well, let's hope this separate forum is an indication that a renewal of the CGI engines is in the cards (ooh, another bad pun). In the meantime, I'll either have to use a Windows machine to act as server, or I'll implement a simple HTTP-server in Rev and return the data from there instead of through...

RevXML/RevDB calls on MacOSX
Hi All, While I've been able to make revXML and revDB calls work from the Rev cgi-engine on Windows, I can get results from neither revXML nor revDB calls using the Darwin/OSX engine. I've tossed all the external bundles, as well as the database drivers, directly into the /Library/WebServer/CGI-Exec...

Re: Need help: My standalone for Window doesn't recognize My
Hi Pali, Unfortunately, it affects standalone building for Windows in 2.7 from both MacOS X and Windows ; it works correctly in 2.6, though - so if you don't rely on new features, you could move it back to version 2.6 for now. At least until Rev 2.7.1 rolls around, where this problem has been rectif...

Re: Need help: My standalone for Window doesn't recognize My
Hi Pali, Are you using Rev 2.7? - if so there's a problem in the standalone builder that skips copying the database drivers and the externals. The target milestone for this fix is 2.7.1, which should be available shortly. You can verify if this is the problem by checking the subdirectory 'externals'...
