Re: Deployment to WEB
I too can confirm that your (very cool looking) revlet (should it be called a "Livelet" now?) does not work on Firefox 4.0 or 4.01. As for Google Chrome, according to an article in CNET this week, 1 in 8 people use Chrome, and more use it than Safari. Indeed, the graph shows that Chrome has grown th...

Summer Academy
Can anyone provide some details about the Summer Academy? Is it online, real time webinar sort of thing? In person? Web asynchonous? The announcement was a little vague on these issues.

Re: revBrowser not working on mac, but okay on pc
I think I may have discovered a related bug. I figured if the backdrop causes problems, I can simply set the fullscreen of the stack to true, and accomplish the same result. But, the same problem happens, despite the fact that the backdrop is not turned on! Oy vey!

Re: revBrowser not working on mac, but okay on pc
So, I have "solved" the problem. It is the bug that you, Klaus, (and others) have already reported. http://forums.runrev.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=7072&start=0 My backdrop was turned on, and so I didn't see anything in the browser. When I turned the backdrop off, my browser contents magically appeared...

Re: revBrowser not working on mac, but okay on pc
Klaus, Sorry, I wasn't very clear was I? On OSX the screen is completely blank. I can't tell if the browser was actually created, because you don't see anything (and I believe this is normal) in the application browser. So, I don't know have any clue as to what is happening (or not happening). I hav...

revBrowser not working on mac, but okay on pc
Hi all. I've got the following identical code that works great on my PC (using Rev Enterprise 4.0.0), but doesn't seem to work at all on OSX (using LiveCode 4.5.1). I realize I've got more than one difference, but any ideas what might be the problem? - Mark global sBrowserId, gCounter on mouseUp put...

Re: Google Chrome and revWeb: Will they ever work?
Aha! I should read the newsletter more closely. That said, they have claimed it would work since day one. I'm trying to teach a class using revMedia, and the only way to deploy is revWeb (well, there is the player, but that hasn't been updated in even longer). In any case, thanks Bangkok for noticin...

Google Chrome and revWeb: Will they ever work?
It's been almost a year now. The runrev website claims that revWeb plugin works with Google Chrome. It does not. I realize that most rev users are also mac people (well, I assume), but surely someone else is frustrated by this? I'm almost glad about the Steve Jobs announcement because maybe they'll ...

Re: More revLet questions
Shadowslash,
I can confirm that revlets do not work on Google Chrome -- at least not on Vista or XP -- and haven't for a couple of months now. I could swear that they used to work. I don't know which update broke it, but it definitely does not work on Chrome for windows.

Re: Sending Email
Let me up the ante a bit and ask if there is a way to send an email through an online email account. So, instead of rev opening up Outlook on the user's computer, it sends data (collected from the user) to my gmail account from my gmail account. I know that we can upload data to an ftp site by passi...

Very interesting. I'm an experimental psychologist (social cognition) at USF St. Petersburg, so I'm always interested in how others use runrev to do research. Now, without seeing your demonstration in practice it's still not entirely clear what the problem is; Still seems that if you put a transpare...

Brandon, My understanding has always been (and I just tested it, and confirmed) that if you hide a control you shouldn't be able to click on it. How exactly were you hiding these particular controls? What did you click in the properties box? This is for my benefit if you don't mind, as I realize you...

Brandon, I don't believe you can actually turn off the mouse, but you can block any clicks from reaching particular objects by placing a large button on top of those objects. Once you've dragged the new button and resized it over your to-be-hidden objects, then in the properties of the new button do...

Hi mtecedor, Couple of things. First, it looks like you're trying to write one long script that I'm guessing you placed in the stack. Generally you place snippets of code into the objects that use them, that way you don't have to check by saying "if theButton is 1 ..." You can simply put this into t...
