Re: Unexpected results when deleting a blank line from a list field
Yes I have to agree - its all a bit flakey : I'm planning on trying to create a custom list with a second field that is used for input and editing. I think I may have one somewhere but I can't find it, although I have just rediscovered Bernd's ModTableField and Scott Rossi's TableLab which have dist...

Re: Unexpected results when deleting a blank line from a list field
Hi Stam, No I think you have understood: when I select a blank line and press the top delete button, the one without the "answer" nothing happens, however when using the lower button with the answer line a blank message is displayed and the line gets deleted. Here is a screen shot of the test app wh...

Unexpected results when deleting a blank line from a list field
My application has a list field and I want the user to be able to edit its contents. I found this post "Click, Pause, Click Again to Edit a Line in a Field?" and used the simple code by dunbarx in my list field. on selectionChanged --answer the selectedtext of field "ServerList" --answer the hilited...

Re: Unable to scale an jpeg on a datagrid form
Hi Stam, Thanks School boy error on me: I foolishly changed an existing datagrid table to a form adding the dodgy code I quoted above. This was a bad bad error. My app, which in mitigation I had rediscovered on my hard drive from a few years ago also contained code that set up the table columns and ...

Unable to scale an jpeg on a datagrid form
I need to display a list of images so I decided to follow the tutorial found here : https://lessons.livecode.com/m/datagrid/l/7305-example-creating-a-list-of-people My datagrid deviates from the tutorial in that the images available on disk are quite large being approximately 500 pixels on the long ...

Re: Announcing Xavvi, a Great Leap Forward for App Building
"I would say probably not" I agree which sort of begs the questions : where is the I in AI and what exactly is it for? In the demonstration the AI produces a table of Doctors, I'm curious that it also included a field for specialisation that I don't think it was asked for. If thats the case why did ...

Re: Announcing Xavvi, a Great Leap Forward for App Building
Hmmmmmm, I'm late to this party but wonder if Xavvi will improve on the quality of rotated graphics of Livecode or will be capable of producing complicated routines e.g. "write a plugin to read and write data stored in the application Apple Calendar and don't forget to include all that is necessary ...

Re: Palette stack of Custom Controls
Useful tools.
If I remember my own efforts were aimed at simplifying the use of custom controls built using livecode attempted partly in response to all the encouragement at the time to use Livecode Builder.

Re: External Dev Kit vs LiveCode Builder
Hi Paul, Thank you for your reply. After much hair pulling I managed to get the callback and Apple Sandbox / security working after much input from fellow coders on this forum all detailed in the thread Seeking 'beta' testers - MacOS and iOS https://forums.livecode.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=37540 The ...

Re: Seeking 'beta' testers - MacOS and iOS
Crikey chaps - I've just spotted that you were both working on the files on Christmas Day - thats all very above and beyond.
Thank-you both, I'm not sure I would trust myself with a computer late on Christmas Day hic!
Now I just need to find a better solution than DropBox for hosting files.

Re: Creating a local server
Yes I am on a mac, however when I have tried airdrop I have found it to be rather "hit and miss" its o.k. for a few images but give it a larger number then it fails.I can't remember if you're on a Mac but if so, AirDrop is a direct method.

Re: Creating a local server
Forthworld - thanks for your very detailed response. I can confirm that I have no plans to take on Google but perhaps I should have explained my objective. Recently I had a conversation where the discussion centred on the potential loss of copyright if images are stored in the "cloud" (remote off ba...
