Re: Identifying App folder Redux

LOL Klaus,
I did not say you recommended anything in this thread, I said you "generally recommend" (as in, "I've read in a lot of other posts you've authored").

If anyone else, or the OP themselves was confused by this, my apologies.

Re: Interaction with Table Fields?

Making a field just look like a table field is not enough. I guess that becomes the real question, which the OP would have to answer for themselves. However, for what they are looking to do, the simplified table - in - field (distinction made solely for you, Craig, hee hee) is the most easily accom...

You can make a table field from an ordinary field if you set both the "basicTableObject" and "CellEdit" properties, and some others for looks, like the vertical and horizontal lines.
Say what ?! I don't remember *that* being a requirement :P

Also, is it possible to retrieve the content of that cell? (I mean directly, instead of getting all data out and then addressi...

Re: Identifying App folder Redux

Okay. I provided the student running macOS Catalina with a $10 gift card and a standalone version of the application (built with LC Indy 8.10) named EAS-SABE-CHK that included a zillion error checks . At least with this build, the specialFolderPath("engine") apparently is broken in Catalina. (sorry...

Re: Shadow App that ruined Iowa Caucuses

we should be using paper ballots. Well, that, and get people to stop electing officials the way they cheer on a sporting team, and of course electing people to office who are out to protect the public's best interest, instead of their own. Unfortunately, I don't think they make those types anymore.

Can anyone explain what exactly went wrong with the app?
Well, in the beginning, despite being a colony, there was the ability to have complete freedom (if you moved far enough out into the wilderness).

Unfortunately, things went rapidly downhill from there.

WRONG.
If I get lots of opportunities to reply here, I get to do less work at the office.

Yah, same here, really it was just my warped sense of humor, I'd not want to make you feel unwelcome by any stretch of the imagination :D

Heh, only if it works, if it doesn't, I will deny all knowledge of the whole affair, and sweep that post under the rug :P

Using specialFolderPath("engine") is far more elegant than the strategy I'd borrowed from the LC tutorial -- Hmmm, where have I read that before https://i.postimg.cc/c6dTzxM0/CONFUSED2.gif ... 50 WHAAAaaaa ?!?! https://i.postimg.cc/QVrxGPHX/tigi.gif Mind you, I'm not 'Mac' centric, but Klaus contin...

The only one I know of that might know would be Zryip TheSlug, you might try sending a message to him through the link under his name in the members section.

Re: File Picker Widget?

Just to be even clearer, I'd be curious if you could give a clearer idea of what your asking about. As Richard mentioned, answer files / folders gives you a standard dialog box. You mention using 'the files / the folders' and a list box, which seems to me like you are trying to create a directory tr...
