Re: path to the .livecode file I'm working on

Sorry, sp27, I meant no offense, and I wouldn't ever put words into someone else's mouth in any case. However if you look at my original message, my quote from your message did not contain "sorta kinda." That was in the text of what I wrote, not the your original message text. Somehow, though, the r...

Re: path to the .livecode file I'm working on

Section 11.1 File Name Specifications and File Paths goes to great length explaining paths and folders, but I can't find a way to get the folder where my current application is--in the development environment, not as a standalone. While I work on it, the defaultFolder tells me where LC is installed...

Re: Resolution Issue?

Check out the Geometry Manager in the User Guide. Also, look into the User Samples and find a developer tool called "NativeSoft Native Geometry." I haven't tried it yet, but it claims to make it easy to configure your program for multiple resolutions. Also, the LiveCode summer academy webinar series...

Re: Playing MPEG Video

Hi Gene, glad you got it working! MPG1 files should be even playable with the "play videoclip XYZ" command. Maybe that will wok for you? No fiddling around with "dontuseqt" etc. 8) Best Klaus Hi Klaus - thanks for the extra feedback. I tried "play videoclip xyz.mpg," and got back "could not create ...

Re: Playing MPEG Video

Bingo! Problem solved! Much thanks to both Mark and Klaus for replying, because I really wanted to know that LC would play video other than QT. The key element was suggested by Mark, which is Turn off "Load QT at Start" in the preferences. Early on I discovered that you had to use a "dontuseqt" comm...

Re: a utility to collect all scripts

Look under the User Samples pull down menu on the main LiveCode menu bar and select "Developer Tool" from the list on the left hand side of the page. From there you can scroll down to something called "Script Reporter" that soundsa like what you are looking for. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks ...

Playing MPEG Video

Hello - I am posting this in the Windows Forum because I want to deliver MPEG video on Windows platform without requiring the end user to install QT. I've scoured the forums and User Guide for a clear cut answer on how to do this, but have come up with only bits and pieces of an answer. Maybe someon...

Re: Welcome to Android

Hurray for Heather! This thread is really good news. Now, of course, I am at a loss for a worthwhile question or insight to post in the main thread, but I'm sure something will show up before long.

Re: Adroid Platform

And before anyone says "no, there are too many forums already" we could let an Android specific forum take the place of one of the ones we don't really need. (Solaris and other 'nix? with three threads? One in 2006, one in 2007 and one in 2009?) This has come up before, and was summarily dism...

Android in "Platform Specific" category?

With the release of the new Android Beta version, is it time to create sub-category under Platform Specific just for Android development issures?

Thanks,

Gene
