Re: Shoutcast / Icecast stream player
One thing you could try (although my own tests don't look promising) is the new browser widget. I believe that this is fully cross platform. It is also easier to work with as it can be tested in LiveCode before being tested on a mobile device. The browser widget definitely supports HTML5 as I am abl...

Re: Augmented reality applications for mobile devices
While live feeds from cameras is not a feature available in LiveCode today, this is an excellant opportunity for a widget to be made that adds in this functionality to LiveCode. The LiveCode team are currently hard at work on the 'Infinite LiveCode' campaign that will bring tutorials and examples fo...

Re: Can Livecode be an external for non-livecode apps?
There isn't really a way, as far as I know. From your description I am not sure if you are using LiveCode to access the mobile device's native GPS, but if you were just using it to process data and convert it one way or another, then you could use LiveCode server and have the mobile app send request...

Re: HyperCard Serial Toolkit
That's no problem. Let me know if you need any other help and I'll do my best (there are some good tutorials out there for converting HyperCard stacks to LiveCode, such as http://www.hyperactivesw.com/mctutorial/rrintro.html ). Also, do you have any images / reference diagrams / schematics for the m...

Re: HyperCard Serial Toolkit
OK, long reply time... I've looked at what you uploaded, in particular the full script text file (how did you export that, by the way?). This is what I have found: Most of the serial commands in the HC Serial Toolkit are not being used. The ones that are being used should be rewriteable in LiveCode,...

Re: HyperCard Serial Toolkit
Ah, OK. From your reply I think that you are not only updating the software from HyperCard to LiveCode, but also the hardware from PIC to Arduino/Raspberry Pi. If that is the case then the easiest option is probably to rewrite the lines of code that deal with serial control from Serial Toolkit into ...

Re: HyperCard Serial Toolkit
Okay. From your response, it is clear that the HC Serial Toolkit you were using is quite a bit more low-level than the serial commands LiveCode offers. As such, not all of the commands and functions you listed can be implemented in LiveCode. I have tried though, and my code is below: local sending, ...

Re: HyperCard Serial Toolkit
LiveCode has the "open driver", "read from driver", "write ___ to driver" and "close driver commands". I'm not familiar with the HC Serial Toolkit, but although the syntax won't be the same, I imagine that everything you can do with the toolkit can be done with the above commands. If you provide som...

Re: School data collection app
One way of doing what you want (a centralized host for the data that is accessible by LiveCode stacks across a network) is to use the newly-released Wordpress-LiveCode interface, released very generously by Todd Fabacher. I haven't had the chance to use it myself, but you can get it from here: https...

Re: Same system, same code, diff. Macs, diff. results
What do you mean by "fails"? Does it crash, or just produce the incorrect results.
If it is the applescript causing the failure, can you run that by itself in Mac's 'Automator' tool? Does that work?

Re: Cursor doesn't change to resize arrow
Sometimes I find in LiveCode that the cursor gets 'stuck' on a particular cursor-icon, and refuses to change no matter what. If you go to the message box, and type "unlock cursor" this will reset the cursor to its default icon. (Although you may have a different issue.)

Re: Need an native looking IOS progress bar
One thing you could try (I have done similar things before) is to use an animated GIF rather than an actual scrollbar object. If you find an animated GIF of a full progress bar complete with animation, then use a graphic object to hide the portion that you don't want visible (e.g: the last 30% of th...

You should be able to find this information by looking in the user guide for each version of LiveCode. But yes, it would be handy to have all the info in one place.

Re: Analytical Engine - An Introduction to Computer Science
Hi Lagi and capellan, So sorry for not replying to this sooner - I have been very busy with work for the last few months. Have you had any luck in finding someone with a disk? The website worldcat.org is a good resource for finding libraries that have certain books. A quick search tells me that the ...
