Re: locate language app

I had a little time to spare this afternoon, so I ran a couple of simple tests on my iPhone 5s: mobileCurrentLocale() will return a single line depending on the Settings > General > Language & Region iPhone Language choice, in the format "en_US" for English - USA or "fr_CA" for French - Canada mobil...

Re: Does Browser widget make a good browser?

Again, I'm speaking from ignorance here, so forgive me PBH, but couldn't you just use built in commands to do that? uploading to ftp has been around forever, and I remember recently reading something about using dropbox libraries as well (not from the browser widget, or maybe it was ?) elsewhere on...

Re: Does Browser widget make a good browser?

You should also check the LiveCode QCC and search for "Browser Widget", you'll find a list of the current problems with the Browser Widget. The show stopper for me was not being able to use it to upload a file to a website, e.g. Dropbox or anything similar, I reported Bug 17928 http://quality.liveco...

Re: Select text on text field

Please post the bug number, it will be interesting to see what the LiveCode team's view on this is.

I also found this works, in the IDE at least;

Code: Select all

on openField -- when clicking in the field, select all its text
   wait 1 with messages
   select text of the target
end openField

Re: Select text on text field

I'm not sure this would be classed as a bug, because it looks to me like the engine is controlling "normal" behaviour. i.e. Normally when you click in a field the insertion point is placed at the point where you click with the cursor, so this is cancelling the select text script immediately after th...

Re: How showing the current font in a popup menu ?

works fine with menumode = option, not with menumode = PopUp Unfortunately the menuHistory only works with the Option Menu, I can't find a way to make it work with the Pop-Up menu. There maybe a way by using a stack as the pop-up, but unfortunately I don't have enough spare time to experiment this ...

Re: How showing the current font in a popup menu ?

Jean-Marc, Your English is good, no worries there. :) After another look at this I found the script I posted earlier will change the font to (Default) if the selection contains multiple fonts, so adding a condition improves the result. This happens because setting the menuHistory triggers the menuPi...

Re: How showing the current font in a popup menu ?

If I understand correctly, you'll need to set the menuHistory of the menu to the correct number. I tried an example and this works for me... Field Script on selectionChanged put the text of btn "fontMenu" into tFontList -- Grabs the font list put the textFont of the selectedText into tSelectedTextFo...

Re: Print designated area doesn't work in LC8

It appears you are probably working on Windows (10)? This does work OK on Mac, I've no idea if it works on Linux. This topic came up on the user list recently and has just been reported to the QC system, bug #19599; http://quality.livecode.com/show_bug.cgi?id=19599 If you could add your findings and...

Re: Handlers for Scrolling List Field

You should find that selectionChanged will do what you need.

e.g. Field Script:

Code: Select all

on selectionChanged
put the selectedLine into fld "myChoiceField"
end selectionChanged

Re: Print to PDF not rendering correctly

After a few more tests, the most consistent results seem to be achieved by setting both the threeD and opaque properties of a field control to false. This may not be the best setting if you want the field to be a different colour to the card background. I tested making PDFs both from the LC print to...

Re: Print to PDF not rendering correctly

I think there's definitely a bug somewhere with this. I tried adding a graphic with a 1 pixel border next to a field with a 1 px border and they do not appear consistent in the rendered PDF. The graphic has even borders all round, but the field certainly doesn't, the bottom right sides of the field ...

Re: Print to PDF not rendering correctly

Do you have any effects (like drop shadows or glows) applied to the fields, or more to the point, any of the controls behind them? Reading this reminded me of a bug I found a few weeks ago, so I've just reported it. The problem manifests in the print (or PDF), and only occurs where controls are plac...
