"Add folder" in "Copy Files" not adding folder contents

Hi everyone I'm trying to include folders among the application's assets, using the "Add folder" button in the "Copy Files" tab of the Standalone Application settings. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but when I create the standalone, it creates empty folders instead of copying the folders...

Re: dateFormat # symbols

Thank you, Richard!

So just to be sure, would a dateFormat of
#%m/#%d/%Y
mean the same thing as
%#m/%#d/%Y
?
(because your post has the # in front of the %, whereas my device has the # after the %)

dateFormat # symbols

Hello On my physical Android device, the dateFormat function returns %#m/%#d/%Y instead of %m/%d/%Y The dateFunction entry in the LiveCode dictionary mentions %a, %A, %b, %B, %d, %m, %y, %Y, and %w, but no #. Can someone please tell me what the # symbol means in the return value of the dateFormat fu...

Re: setRegistry on Windows 64-bit

Hello fellow LoveCoders, After a long search, I came to the conclusion that I will have to create a LiveCode external with a function that can probe for the existence of a value in the Windows 32-bit registry. And so I did! I wrote a "regValueExists" function that takes 3 arguments: pRootKeyName, pS...

Re: setRegistry on Windows 64-bit

Now, I have another issue with setRegistry: I need to be able to change an entry only if its key already exists. How can I prevent the key from being created when it doesn't exist? The queryRegistry isn't of much help here because it returns empty for keys that doesn't exist. It also returns empty i...

Re: setRegistry on Windows 64-bit

Thank you, Mark! That resolved the issue. Windows 8 must have sandboxed LiveCode by default.

setRegistry on Windows 64-bit

Hi I'm using LiveCode on Windows 8 (64-bit) and trying to change registry entries which are also accessed by some other non-LiveCode applications, located under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\myCompany\" but the values I set with the setRegistry function are only visible to LiveCode and not to any oth...

Re: LC 6.6 IDE keeps locking up at irregular intervals (Win.

I'm now using LiveCode 6.6.1 GM 1 and there are no more lock-ups.

Can anyone else who had the same problem please confirm whether LiveCode 6.6.1 GM 1 also solved it for you?

Meanwhile I'm marking this topic as [solved].

LC 6.6 IDE keeps locking up at irregular intervals [solved]

Hi I don't know if there's anyone else having this problem with LiveCode 6.6, but the IDE keeps locking up at irregular intervals. I can be working on any project and then suddenly the IDE locks up on me. Each time I have to kill the LiveCode.exe process from Task Manager, although Task Manager does...

platform specific copy files sections in standalone settings

Hi RunRev How about extending the "Copy Files" section of the Standalone Application Settings to also allow different entries for different platforms? Some files are used only on certain platforms so it would be nice not having to build each platform seperately and edit the copy files list before ea...

Re: baseline property for field objects

Bernd, I played again with your stack, and it WORKED once I corrected an incorrect variable name (tFormRect) and replaced pValue with the effective textHeight of the field! THANK YOU, BERND! You've just made my day! :D So that solves it then. I must have confused the formattedHeight and formattedRec...

Re: baseline property for field objects

Hi Bernd, Thanks for joining in the fun. I tested your stack on my system (Windows 8.1) and unfortunately the buttons doesn't line up to the baselines. I don't know if I'm the only one it doesn't work for. I also tried subtracting the descent from the lower boundary of the formattedRect, but for me ...

Re: baseline property for field objects

Mark and Jacque, The ratio cannot be a constant because I've found that it varies among different fonts, e.g. it is different for "Times New Roman" and "Raavi", even if the textSize and textHeight are the same for both fonts. I agree about our having to examine the engine's source code -- perhaps th...

Re: baseline property for field objects

Thank you, Mark! I just hope the constant doesn't vary among platforms, or else we'll need to find a consistent way to to derive that constant on each platform. I'll post my findings as soon as I've been able to test it on other platforms. Thanks again for bearing with me. Regards, Gerrie Edit: Afte...
