Why so hard to purchase LC?

So this is the second time this has happened to me. Last year, I took advantage of one of the LiveCode bundles. Problem: It took a call to my bank to authorize the transaction, because RunRev is in Scotland, and naturally from the States it raises security flags. We got it worked out, over a day's t...

Re: Box on selected line?

[attachmnt=0]Boxed Screenshot.png[/attachment]Thanks Klaus. It's set to "Native look and feel" I have attached a screenshot of what this field looks like in the simulator. Boxed Screenshot.png That dark box on choice three is what I want to get rid of; ideally I'd like to just have that grey highlig...

Box on selected line?

Everyone, So I have a list field, and a selected line in it. It looks great, but when I build for the simulator (iOS 7.1) a small black box that looks like it is around the entire line shows up. There's no border on the field or anything. I've turned off all the border things I can think of. I didn'...

Re: Some fundamental concepts

But in this case what I would like to know is the gory low level details of how it is implemented. What is actually making the connection. Do we have some kind of message queue, and a process that picks the message together with the target(in this case the button) and then goes and reads the target...

Re: Iterate through objects in a group

Thanks for testing, Bernd. What I was trying to do was to set the rect of the controls of a background group; adjusting the placement in a resize handler that is called either directly or on preOpenCard. Basically, just laying out the controls. I'm beginning to wonder if I have some deeper issues, b...

iOS 8 features

Out of curiosity, is there any way to support things like HandOff and Continuity with LiveCode?

Re: Some fundamental concepts

The User Guide defines, actually, 5 different messages. GetProp, SetProp, function, on, and command. Right now, Command and On are synonyms of each other, but the manual encourages you to use On for system defined events and command for your own custom handlers. So you handle "on MouseUp" but you do...

Re: Iterate through objects in a group

I was going to post a new topic, but this seems related enough. Is there a bug with the num of controls? I tried to repeat with i = 1 to the num of controls of me --stuff end repeat inside a group script. It works wonderfully.... except that it is always returning all the controls except the last on...

Re: Updates on some of these enhancements?

I'm glad that "this me" was added; it's unfortunate the documentation doesn't say anything about it. Unless you memorize the release notes for each build, or go back through the history you would never know! The dispatch thing was based off of this thread . As for the issue tracking system: "This me...

Updates on some of these enhancements?

So I've read some of the slightly older threads here with proposed syntax changes, and it appears that at some point they were added to the engine. Maybe? Things like "This me" for behaviors (I got lost on the final decision on that syntax) and changing the dispatch command to "dispatch xxx to yyyy ...

Re: In App Purchases

Well, in answer to your specific questions: I would personally have the code for in app purchases set up before I tried to apply it. But I believe there is a sandbox to test your app and in app purchases before it goes live. So I believe the sequence is that you register your app with iTunes Connect...

Re: In App Purchases

Maxs: I don't know if you've read the Livecode lessons that cover all of this, but RunRev put together what appears to be a fairly comprehensive set of tutorials on this subject. Here is a lesson for Apple. It covers much of the basics for all stores as well. And here is the instructions for Samsung...

Re: In App Purchases

I think the platforms treat it a bit differently. On apple, a consumable is something like the "bag of diamonds" which gives you, say, 20 diamonds that you then use somehow--two diamonds to upgrade your weapon or whatever. A non consumable is like the difference between the "lite" version and if you...

Re: Introspection possible?

Thanks, I've been experimenting with Dispatch. Unfortunately, you have to use two different forms of Dispatch, one for commands and one for functions--and how do you know which one to use from the point of view of the script? What I am looking for is to build a delegate pattern like Cocoa has. So I ...

Re: Introspection possible?

Yes, I mean "Is there a handler named XXXXX? If so, call it. If not, do something else." Try/catch would work, but it would be nice to just have a command. "If object hasHandler 'onMouseDown' then send "mouseDown" to object else pass" Or something like that. Also, is there a way to observe changes i...
