Stop auto-correct in the Dictionary!

I just typed "tabkey" into the LC Dictionary's search field. My Mac's autocorrect changed it to "tabby". Autocorrect is constantly messing me around in that field... ARGH!

If there is a way to prevent that being done to a field please PLEASE apply that here!

Re: Can I tab text in a field

Hmm. Tried it in the field script and I'm afraid it doesn't work. :-/

Can I tab text in a field

I'd like to enter text in a field and be able to type tabs to add basic tab structure. I have a field with tabStops set and it works perfectly in LC, but of course when I try and enter text in the browser version, hitting the tab key tabs out of the field. Any ideas? k ADDED CLARIFICATION: this is i...

Re: Compare two lists (comparing fontName before/after)

I feel like I'm risking getting a slap now, but it does seem to me that a mobile (iOS and Android) app of the Dictionary would be a great thing for the LC team to produce! I'd have it on the home screen of my iPhone and iPad and I'd probably spend as much time in it as in any other app, including so...

Re: Font details returned from 'start using font'

Ah, of course. It – I meant ‘it’ – would be a very respectable place to put the data.

Re: For which operating system do you need RunRev?

Whatever you do, don't have an internet connection on those machines. Unsupported OSes are the devil's playground. Good advice, although my broadband router's firewall does a good job, these are OS 8/9 Macs with only basic AppleTalk comms enabled and very restricted sharing, and I don't run older n...

Re: For which operating system do you need RunRev?

I wouldn't dream of asking the dev team to maintain support for what is unarguably a long-dead OS! That would be foolish and rude of me. Personally, I'm just wondering whether I still have a hard drive with a very old copy of Revolution on it, or if not whether I can reinstall on my old G4 Cub...

Re: For which operating system do you need RunRev?

I wonder if what is really needed is NOT a series of LiveCode variants to run on all sorts of old, obsolete systems, BUT the ability to make standalones that will run on all sorts of old, obsolete systems. This would be particularly interesting to me – albeit basically for my own enjoyment, getting...

Re: Font details returned from 'start using font'

If the font was loaded successfully, the start using font command puts empty into the result. That does seem counter intuitive. Perhaps when it was implemented the result was seen as nothing more than an error trap method? Extending the result in this way would seem to be the perfect way to enhance...

Font details returned from 'start using font'

The 'start using font file' command is superb, and the 'globally' addition is also extremely useful. What would make this even better would be returning (in some way) the system-friendly font name (and styles, differentiated from the font family name?) of the font it activates. That would eliminate ...

Re: PDF printing without printing

That does seem strange. From the Dictionary: The open printing to pdf command starts a print loop that outputs directly to a PDF file rather that the currently configured printer. Have you tried simplifying your code as much as possible purely for testing purposes? A simple "hello PDF world" kind of...

Re: Option Menu (dropdown-list)

Have you looked at the menuPick message? That's what is triggered when someone picks an item from a menu. on menuPick pChosenItem -- in a pulldown menu put pChosenItem into field 1 end menuPick Or if you want to respond to the selected menu item rather than simply put it into a field, something like...

Re: Compare two lists (comparing fontName before/after)

That's a shame! It's exactly the kind of thing that would be superb to have on a 'second screen' device. It works fine on my iPad, but smaller screens seem to break the div setup.
