Re: Revolution on GoDaddy

Oliver Seems we are doing 'about' the same thing. Granted yours is neater, but I'm shot gunning it trying to find the 'issue'. GoDaddy was very helpful, did all the site upgrades I could. Turned on all the logs, etc. HOWEVER since I'm using a shared server, they don't have error logs that cover CGI ...

Re: Revolution on GoDaddy

Submitting a help request into runrev. Running the app below (portion/edited) on GoDaddy Linux server, I am returned up to 'step 2'. Concluding that the error must be related to 'revSetDatabaseDriverPath'. I've tried numerous combinations of the Path and revdb.so and dbmysql.so. There is no error no...

Revolution on GoDaddy

If you have attempted to run a CGI script on GoDaddy, and even the BASIC app isn't running. Give them a call, seems the server my site was on had an 'issue' running CGIs. Took about 24 hours, but they fixed it. The site now runs basic CGI's, but I'm unable to get a database application to work corre...

Re: My experience with CGI on windows Apache and MySQL

Anyone have the sets for setting up CGI database (file names, locations, code) for the Mac? Been working on this a few days, just found out I need 'drivers'.. DUH, makes sense, no documentation on the matter! <sigh> As I've said since I started using RunRev, good documentation and examples are neede...

Re: CGI Setup on Mac OS X Server (Leopard)

Received version 3.5 from RunRev (Thanks!)

Worked the first try! Fantastic!

Why would they remove this function/feature? Anyway, everything works when running the 3.5 runtime under OS X, as per the instruction listed before.

Again, thanks runrev!

Re: CGI Setup on Mac OS X Server (Leopard)

Totally correct, I removed the executable from the bundle per the instructions (we do that type of thing on a daily bases in building our apps, scripts, etc.)

Emailed Support for the file(s)!

Thanks!

Re: CGI Setup on Mac OS X Server (Leopard)

As per the instructions, I copied the file from: /Revolution Enterprise/4.0.0-gm-1/Runtime/Mac OS X/Universal/Standalone tried renaming it to "revolution" as per instructions, used "standalone". At one point I even copied the "Revolution" file from: /Revolution Enterprise/4.0.0-gm-1/Revolution renam...

CGI Setup on Mac OS X Server (Leopard)

Spent two days trying to get the simple "hello.cgi" app to work on one of our Xserves. Keep getting the 500 error message (script not completed). Followed the following: http://www.runrev.com/newsletter/july/issue4/newsletter2.html (Parts 1 & 2) (there was another guide very much like this one, but ...

Re: Canel Send "cardtimer"

Think I figured it out! (only takes HOURS) <sigh>

send "cardtimer" to me in 0 second

should be (FOR EXAMPLE):

send "timerInterval" to this card in 1 second

Meaning "on this card" rather than to ME..

Canel Send "cardtimer"

In my current project I have two cards, the main page/card and a second 'settings' page. My goal is to have the program automatically exit the 'settings' page if there is no user activity/changes made within 30 seconds. So far this works correctly. However (isn't there always a HOWEVER). Once I am b...

Population of a PullDownMenu with USB Port Names

After two hours of googlin' and searching the runrev sites, I've been unable to find an example of how to populate a pull down menu with available USB/Serial Ports. How do we get a hardware list of ports to populate such a list? (Mostly for the Mac) Hard coded list: /dev/cu.usbserial-A9006LdD /dev/c...

Re: Going Crazy trying to learn Revolution, Applescript puzzle.

Got it!!! While trying to remove the white spaces (before my first post), I 'cleaned' up the code removing some important code. So it seems! The code below works fine! The delays are important in Applescript, gives the OS/app enough time to open, login, etc. Plus I forgot the 'end tell' would more t...

Re: Going Crazy trying to learn Revolution, Applescript puzzle.

Found the white spaces, they were coming from the file read, was able to remove them. Still no Applescript action. Below is the output being sent to "do tScript as AppleScript" -------------- Output ------------ tell application "iChat" activate log in service "david@chat.jabber.org" set the status ...

Re: Going Crazy trying to learn Revolution, Applescript puzzle.

Unsure. Have attempted to remove 'white spaces' from the fields. (IE REPLACE) Assumed the CR at the end of each line was required by runrev (due to passing script onto OS X for execution), but a return is needed in Applescript.. From what I can tell the user (me) needs to construct one long string (...

Going Crazy trying to learn Revolution, Applescript puzzle.

Know a few computer languages, trying to grasp RunRev's. It says it supports Applescript, and I can only find one simi-good example. Logically, this should work, it populates the fields, but no script action. I've tried lots of variations trying to resolve, this looks like the closest to working (my...
