[SOLVED] Naming conventions

Just starting in the Create it with LiveCode course although I have been occasionally playing around with LiveCode for about 2 years. What naming conventions do some of you use for variables, parameters, etc. For example, using "g" as the first letter of a global variable? I want to start the course...

Re: LiveCode Community Open Source Apps

Even if my site is also download only, it would be easy enough for people to send their zip to me and I could post it for download.

It only takes a minute to copy/paste a brief description and upload the zip.

Happy Holidays everyone.

Re: Empty Project Browser

I closed the card and reopened several times. Nothing changed. I even closed and reopened the stack and LC. Nothing at first changed. Now it is back to working normally so it will be hard to track down if it was a bug. I am grateful though that my Project Browser is now behaving normally. Thanks. As...

Empty Project Browser

I deleted a card from my app. Now the Project Browser is completely empty. At first, I thought that I had deleted all of the cards in the app since the project browser was empty. They thankfully are still there. I can see everything in the Application Browser. How do I repopulate my Project Browser?...

Lesson 4 Ebook Academy

In the Lesson 4 pdf file, there is a misprint between pg3 and pg4. iphoneClearTouches is used in one place and mobileClearTouches in the other. If not developing for Android, it wouldn't matter. For the beginner, it would be unclear why one is used on one page and the other on the next page of the p...

Works fine in 6.6.5
You can see a portion of the video in 6.6.5 but not as demo'd in the Lesson. I guess properties of the player need to be changed to make the video the same size as the card.

Re: LiveCode Community Open Source Apps

There are many great resources in the community, but rather spread out....if you can tell me the sorts of apps you're most interested in making I'll see if I can find some good examples for you. Nothing in particular at the moment. I have several ideas for apps... from children's books (the Ebook a...

Re: Lesson1 Ebook Academy

On other thing.... In the pdf file for Lesson 1, on page 12, it has these instructions. Open the Code Editor for the Index card by selecting Card Script from the Object Menu and update the openCard handler on openCard if the environment is "mobile" then send "playMobileVideo" to me in 0 milliseconds...

Re: LiveCode Community Open Source Apps

I guess I was asking ...well because I am a newbie and could learn from other people's code...but also that there is a requirement that apps created with LiveCode Community are supposed to also be open source. If that is correct, then I was hoping that there would be more available to view. I have a...

Lesson1 Ebook Academy

on openCard of the intro card, I can hear but not see the video. What does this mean? Why does the audio portion of it play and not the visual portion play? I don't usually put folders for development on my desktop but I did in this instance because there was a path in the code that pointed to the d...

HTML5 to LiveCode

In this campaign, does this also mean that LiveCode apps on other platforms than the web will have a browser control that supports JavaScript and HTML5? I assume so since apps could be compiled once and deployed everywhere else. I just am asking for confirmation in hopes that it it true. I did donat...
