Re: 6.7 dp4 plays wav sound only once

Thanks Bernd. I'll move it to the trash. If it is needed, it won't take long to recreate.

Re: 6.7 dp4 plays wav sound only once

I downloaded Bernd's sample stack and opened it in LC 7.0 DP5 (OS X 10.7.5). It worked fine and I could play the sound many times by clocking the button until i opened the Project Browser. On opening the project browser and expanding the play wav stack , the project browser crashed. I have a copy of...

Bug in Paragraph Chunk

The new paragraph chunk returns empty when the string being chunked does not contain the end of paragraph mark. In the message box put "The cat sat on the mat. The mat was on the floor." & return & "my second paragraph" into tText put "***" & the first paragraph of tText & "***" Result ****** Line s...

Re: Possible Bug with Sentence Chunk

If the space at the end of the sentence is correct, then the dictionary entry is incorrect. I will file a bug.

Possible Bug with Sentence Chunk

In 7.0 DP5, a sentence chunk includes the space after the full stop. An example in the dictionary entry for excludes the space following the full stop. Code in Message Box put "The cat sat on the mat. The mat was on the floor." into tText put "***" & the first sentence of tText & "***" Result ***The...

Re: Unicode Special Casing and Locale Support

Fraser Thanks for the detailed and informative response. I look forward to the final solution on locales. As somebody mentioned on the mailing list, this is a great opportunity to add value to LiveCode. A locale "object" could hold all sorts of valuable location dependant information, time zone, num...

Re: Possible bug with trueWord chunks - updated

Thanks Ali

After reading the release notes properly, I realised that trueWords don't capture punctation and updated the first message accordingly.

Best regards

Re: Possible bug with trueWord chuinks

I have noticed that this also happens when you expect any empty chunk:

Code:

Code: Select all

put "The cat sat on the mat" into tText
put the seventh word of tText = the seventh trueWord of tText
Result:

Code: Select all

false

Possible bug with trueWord chunks - fixed in 7.0 DP5!!

The trueWord chunk "after" the end of string contains the last word in the string. This is different from the corresponding word which contains an empty string. I ran this in the message box put "The cat sat on the mat." into tText put the sixth word of tText & return into tResult put the seventh wo...

Where are the tests hidden?

It will probably be a long time before I have the necessary knowledge to make changes to the engine. However, I'm pretty sure that I, and probably a lot more LiveCoders, could help write tests. I have an affinity for bugs, most of my code is full of them ;-) The only thing is I can't find the tests....

Re: 1001 things you can do with LiveCode

Very good idea But what is your e-mail address to send you a text and a screen capture ? It's not clear on your blog, or maybe i missed it. Try this in the message box: put base64Decode( "cGV0ZXJ3YXdvb2RAZ21haWwuY29t") Please don't post it here as I'm very nervous about it appearing in the forum.
