Re: Clicking on a button within a DataGrid Form

New information - the problem is probably not with my button inside the form. I click on row template and BEFORE I edit group, in the regular run mode, I click on my button and it works. So...why in regular run mode, doesn't it work in real app? All I can think of is something about my datagrid form...

Re: Clicking on a button within a DataGrid Form

Mine simply doesn't work. Here's what I am doing: Click on the datagrid, then click on rowtemplate to get this (see image): http://www.toolsforbusiness.info/disaster/image1.jpg I go to the top and edit group. Then I click on my button, and go to object script and type in answer "hi" (see image): htt...

datagrid form multiple loop behavior?

I am trying to get my datagrid to have multiple heights based on the contents. In the process of failing to do this and trying to debug it...it seems to be looping a zillion times - and I don't know why. Actually, I have two records in my datagrid. (confirmed when I switch to the table mode). But wh...

Re: Clicking on a button within a DataGrid Form

I think that's what I was doing...but the button won't even accept answer "hello" when you test it. To be clear - when I tested the answer "hello" capability, I clicked on the datagrid...went into row behavior...then went up to the top controls to do edit group...then clicked on the button...and the...

Clicking on a button within a DataGrid Form

I have succeeded in making it so that if you click anywhere EXCEPT on the button...it will execute my code. I would like it to execute when you click on the button within the DataGrid and no where else. First, I tried putting instructions in the button's object script. When I put answer "here" on th...

DataGrid form versus table

I have successfully created Datagrid tables using an outside database. It uses tab-delimited information (actually, I modify the information once it reaches LiveCode to make it tab-delimited). Now, I am trying to format them using Datagrid forms. And it doesn't work. I don't know why... Once it work...

Re: File instability

Five steps forward...3 1/2 back.... This isn't a question - but just a status on how I solved the problem. I have learned some basic things. First, I was being driven crazy by formatting/field placement - until I finally figured out that the order that you put the instructions is critical. You need ...

Re: File instability

I'm missing something basic. I tried to start the whole application over again - new mainstack, new cards...the whole 9 yards. But the new stack is getting images from my old application - even though I made a new substack for resources and put an images file in it and loaded the images for the new ...

File instability

I am so frustrated. I have been building an app - starting with the Ticked Off application and modifying it. I got pretty far on it, saving backup copies so if I made a mistake, I could return to a previous good version. I have been extremely careful to purge LiveCode when going between the differen...

Visual effects failing - how to troubleshoot

I've been happily creating my app and suddenly the visual effect transitioning from card to card is failing. My backup works - the cards transition nicely, but then if I do ANYTHING to the home page card, the transitions for all the cards fail. It does reach the card, but the visual effect "push rig...

Re: selecting line from Datagrid - scrollbar interferes

It is a beautiful thing! I used

if word 1 of the target <> "scrollbar" then
launch url theDataC["Link Address"]
end if

and the scrollbar is no longer my enemy

Thanks

selecting line from Datagrid - scrollbar interferes

I want to select a line from a DataGrid and have it go to a url connected with that line. Everything's good - except my object script is based on OnMouseUp...so when I use the scrollbar to scroll down my DataGrid, on mouseUP, it takes the original line that the scrollbar started on and acts like it ...

Resizing images - setting cImageRatio

I have just figured out that the images on the TickedOff application automatically resize when the stack/card size changes because the images have three Custom properties: - cImageRatio, cPrimaryDimension and cStackRatio. In the short run, I am going to calculate the cStackRatio and manually put it ...

Re: dynamically change an image source

So I have been playing around and have learned a couple of things: 1) LiveCode has Find and Replace under Edit. I haven't used it yet, but expect that it will solve much of my frustration in updating multiple cards as I tweak the application. 2) If I bring in a replacement image that is not exactly ...

Re: dynamically change an image source

I imported an image (call this image1). Later, I modify the image. If I name the modified one the same name as the original (image1), the old image1 continues to appear on LiveCode.....(because I figure that LiveCode has saved that image on its system and doesn't look for any new ones on my computer...
