Re: android app not able to save to sql lite db

The Ticked Off application is the sample used in the getting started series... http://www.runrev.com/developers/documentation/beginners-course/ - under # 6 if you download the materials, there is completed stack. It's a task list. I used it as a base for one of the cards of my app. Anyway, when I te...

Re: android app not able to save to sql lite db

I will dig some more, but when I tried testing the TickedOff application on my Android, it works... so why would it work and my other app not, when I built it using the same stack code?

Re: debugging & field border issues

figured out the field border issue - even though I turned off borders in the object inspector, there were still border width dimensions. Once I set them to 0, the borders disappeared. That also fixed the shadows. Still looking for a better way to debug - although under the developer tab, there is a ...

android app not able to save to sql lite db

I have used part of the ticked off application on my app. It is supposed to save task entries to a sql lite database - but it is failing. When I debug it, it can find the cDatabaseID (which is 1) - it shows that the correct query is going in (which is: insert into tasks values ('1','tasks 1','','fal...

Re: Datagrid form, resizable, multiple fields, click problem

theoretically sounds great. Only partially works in practice. It works on the basic fields in my datagrid. It doesn't work on the field that I set as resizable within the datagrid... That so somehow there must be an "exception" with that one. But I don't know where it is or how to remove it. Here is...

debugging & field border issues

I am deploying my first app on an Android device. The good news is that I can see it on my tablet. The bad news is that all the fields have borders around them (which they do not have in the LiveCode development) - and some other things are off. 1) Is there an easy way to debug this - or do I have t...

Re: Datagrid form, resizable, multiple fields, click problem

dghilitedline only fires when you click on anything except the editable fields. So the issue is - how do you turn off the editable feature of those fields - when I have already turned off editing on the datagrid level? The only workaround I have is to put a blank field on top of it that doesn't have...

Re: Datagrid form, resizable, multiple fields, click problem

I did a workaround that works...but it's crazy. Using DataGrid helper, I put another blank field on top of the fields that won't click... Now, everything in the datagrid clicks.

Not the best solution - would appreciate knowing how to do it the right way.

Re: Datagrid form, resizable, multiple fields, click problem

Maybe it's another problem. When I click on the datagrid line, the fields that are NOT in the resizable theFieldRect are editable. Which is crazy, because I turn editable for the datagrid off and I can't see any other controls on the object level for editing... So...instead of receiving my click to ...

Datagrid form, resizable, multiple fields, click problem

I have succeeded in setting up a datagrid form, getting data to multiple fields in it, and making it resizable. For me, that's pretty good. Now, the last step is to be able to click on a specific line in the datagrid to go to the next card. Seems easy..BUT...when I set up the object script, it will ...

I don't know why - but it suddenly works. I closed the app, reopened it, and it works.

Go figure

Re: Clicking on a button within a DataGrid Form

New information - the problem is probably not with my button inside the form. I click on row template and BEFORE I edit group, in the regular run mode, I click on my button and it works. So...why in regular run mode, doesn't it work in real app? All I can think of is something about my datagrid form...

Re: Clicking on a button within a DataGrid Form

Mine simply doesn't work. Here's what I am doing: Click on the datagrid, then click on rowtemplate to get this (see image): http://www.toolsforbusiness.info/disaster/image1.jpg I go to the top and edit group. Then I click on my button, and go to object script and type in answer "hi" (see image): htt...

datagrid form multiple loop behavior?

I am trying to get my datagrid to have multiple heights based on the contents. In the process of failing to do this and trying to debug it...it seems to be looping a zillion times - and I don't know why. Actually, I have two records in my datagrid. (confirmed when I switch to the table mode). But wh...

Re: Clicking on a button within a DataGrid Form

I think that's what I was doing...but the button won't even accept answer "hello" when you test it. To be clear - when I tested the answer "hello" capability, I clicked on the datagrid...went into row behavior...then went up to the top controls to do edit group...then clicked on the button...and the...
