Send image from android to server?

Has anyone been able to send an image from an android to a server? It seems pretty basic - but if I succeed with an ftp, the image isn't valid... I can do it from a laptop to a server.

Thank you.

Re: mobilepickphoto file type and ftp

I have partially succeeded in ftp'ing from an android to a server with this code on mouseUp constant FTPHOST = "xxxxx" constant FTPUSER = "xxxx" constant FTPPASS = "xxxxx" put ("/sdcard/Pictures/foo1.png") into myGalleryFile put url("file:"&myGalleryFile) into url ("ftp://" & FTPUSER & ":" & FTPPASS...

Re: mobilepickphoto file type and ftp

I have succeeded in saving my photo on the android, using export snapshot from image "harry" to file ("/sdcard/Pictures/foo1.png") as png (I might change it to /sdcard/pictures/screenshots/foo1.png).... Anyway...I still can't figure out how to ftp it directly, or get an existing image (in this case ...

Re: Native controls - keyboard won't close

Here's the answer! Thanks to tech support. They made an error in the original solution - the lockText is supposed to be set to false As for the focussing issue a workaround is to add an invisible, focusable field, with the lockText set to FALSE and then focus on the invisible field before moving car...

Re: Datagrid scrollbar

Figured it out. You have to set the colors for the scrollbar to see anything on an Android. (Androids have similar issues with popup message boxes - the color has to be set on those as well). To do this, Click on the datagrid and select edit group. Then click on the scrollbar and set the colors The ...

Re: Datagrid scrollbar

I was thinking that my scrolling problem might be because the scrollbar is too narrow. I just learned that you can increase the width of the scrollbar with this code: set the width of scrollbar "dgScrollbar" of group "mygrid_resources" to 40 Unfortunately, the scrollbar doesn't work on an Android......

Re: Datagrid scrollbar

Apparently you can purchase Touch Grid and it will solve the problem. Unfortunately, it seems to create 5 new problems. I looked at the documentation and unfortunately, the touch grid isn't set up like the datagrid. So there is no row template or row behavior...I don't think that you can have variab...

Re: Datagrid scrollbar

To clarify - I actually hoped that I could use a downswipe instead of the scrollbar. The code I have above is for a down swipe. I couldn't modify it to work with a datagrid. If there is a way to make the scrollbar for the datagrid work (either it works now and is too small to activate - or it doesn'...

Datagrid scrollbar

I got the datagrid to work - so excited... :D but the scrollbar in the Android device either doesn't work or it is too small to have fingers work it. :( I have looked at the various forums and info and find no help. I did find something that worked on an android - but it uses a scrolling field, not ...

Re: Native controls - keyboard won't close

Sorry I didn't mention it before I tried "focus on nothing" - and it did nothing. That's why I asked technical support for help. I just tried adding "focus on nothing" after focusing on a hidden field.... and it still did nothing. So then I tried putting a button that you click that says "focus on n...

Expanding row broken in Android

I used the expandingrow instructions on http://lessons.runrev.com/s/lessons/m/datagrid/l/9850-how-do-i-create-rows-that-can-expand-contract Works great on my laptop. Doesn't work on Android. I know that it it registering when I click the button because it highlights the selected row...but doesn't ex...

Re: Native controls - keyboard won't close

Still a problem - I just realize that if something is "lock text" you shouldn't be able to put text in it...So I redid my invisible field to be a label - but still have the same result - the keyboard doesn't close. so now my code is if the environment is "mobile" then focus on fld "label field3" ans...

Native controls - keyboard won't close

I have had to use native controls to set up input fields to work on Android devices. I confirmed with technical support that this workaround was necessary because the LiveCode fields won't recognize the keyboards and only type in symbols or the first letter of a suggested word. So, that is OK, but n...
