Re: LC8. Ugh, on the surface

Please file an enhancement request, or multiple enhancement requests.
Thank you.
Can anyone tell me how to do file an enhancement request? I haven't done one before.

Sri

Re: LC8. Ugh, on the surface

Re: Dictionary wish list 1. Several kinds of category-based searches: Structural (e.g., object types), Functional (Commands/ props/ keywords), Usage Context, etc. 2. Columns reduce visual clutter and make searches much easier (esp. for people like me with visual-spatial issues). Two levels of column...

Re: LC8 Dictionary: List of messages for an Object Type

Craig:

Thanks.
I thought that thread was about the look and feel of LC8, not the Dictionary, so didn't read through.

LC8 Dictionary: List of messages for an Object Type

I was looking at the "button" entry in the new LC8 dictionary. It gives a list of messages and properties associated with "button". I couldn't find mouseUp, mouseDown, mouseEnter, mouseLeave, ... in that list. They were not found under the original parent object "object", either. My objective is to ...

Re: Difference between LC Server and HTML5 Standalone

Thanks, Hermann!

I was wondering if the final result is similar.
That is, are these two ways to achieve the same final result (with different advantages/ disadvantages)?
Load a stack (include or require) is part of server side scripting given in the guide.

Thanks,

Difference between LC Server and HTML5 Standalone

Hi: I am totally ignorant about LC Server, and my knowledge of LC HTML5 is not much more. I am trying to get some perspective on each. What is the difference between an HTML5 Standalone and loading a stack into an HTML document using server side scripting? Please feel free to educate me with more ge...

Re: How to apply Row and Column Templates to Datgagrid

Where do you put the items drug onto the template so that they will show up in the grid is the issue? How do you get them to show up? I think you are not reading the instructions or Klaus's comments carefully. It is also a good idea to use the LiveCode terminology to avoid further confusion. For ex...

Re: How to apply Row and Column Templates to Datgagrid

Hi bbhank: 1. Drag a datagrid control onto a card; now you have an empty datagrid. 2. To create a datagrid Form, first you need to lay out how you want the row to look. For this purpose, you click on the "Row Template" in the properties inspector. This takes to to the Row Template Editor, where you ...

Re: Searching array keys

And what does it return when it finds multiple matches? Sorry, not sure what you mean. .... The keys of an array are unique. No two elements of an array can have the same key. In your example of numerical keys (1,2,3,...), there is only one element called myArray[2], for instance. On the other hand...

Re: DataGrid Form Row Change

Hi newbie:

Code: Select all

send "RefreshList" to grp "addGrid"
Was "addGrid" a typo? Should it not be "formGrid"?

Re: splitting a variable

As someone who has benefited from this forum and as someone still learning LC (I am familiar with less than 5% of the dictionary entries!), here's how I'd like to be helped: 1. Provide a solution to the specific problem, preferably correcting the code I have used (unless my code is way out in the le...
