Thanks, Bernd. I'll try yours too. I thought there might be an easier way. On the regexp front, my automated version of this (for whole words, ie no human intervention) uses this (which I am currently experimenting with to simplify), which seems to work well in matchChunk for identifying whole words...

Check this older email from Mark (I searched on "Midi" and found it): Hi, You can download the midi stack from the Dutch Revolution forum. Go to http://runrev.info/rrforum/ and click on "vragen voor gevorderden". You'll find the stack in the first subject in the list, titled "Midi in realtime". Best...

Whole word selection in field

Hi! I'm sure this has been asked but I couldn't find it in the forums. I want to return the whole words when text is selected in a locked field. I have this in the field: on dragMove select the mouseText end dragMove on mouseUp answer the selectedText end mouseUp The user needs to be very careful to...

Docking a substack/palette in a main stack window (like having an undockable "stack field" object) would be very interesting. The Rev IDE is a good example - I use a large second monitor where I "park" the things I am working on, and move whatever is current to my main monitor. I would like to be ab...

tFeedback is not available between the scripts because it was not declared a global. You put a value into a variable of the same name as the function, I don't think that would be good. This does it without the function: on mouseUp put text of field "Field" into buttonToSeek if there is a button butt...

Thanks. Mark had also suggested that earlier, that was going to be my next attempt - I had to read up on "catch" and "try" first :-)

The camouflage stack from www.tactilemedia.com looks like it has similar properties as well.

The ease of use issue may mean someone has more than one window open at a time. If that could be the case, as small a window as possible for the purpose would probably be the way to go - see some of Richard's library stacks for examples, like the color or brush pickers.

Looks like "export snapshot from <object> to file "myFile.jpg" as JPEG" might do the trick.

Walt

PS - if you don't want to be able to access the text afterwards, this captures the image and the text as a snapshot.

Thanks Mark, I read up on that. Plus, thanks for that link, I hadn't seen those online conferences yet. The issue is that I do want to do operations that could incur errors (since errors are one valid response during a test strategy), so I am trying to see how to do so without making them either rec...

OK, fyi, just ran another test. If the test handlers incur an error, they do NOT return after the error, the error terminates their execution at that point and they never return, so they are not staying on the execution stack, and also implying the errorDialog handler does not run "inside" the conte...
