Re: Inter-Stack Messaging

Thanks! Is there any difference in the handler between Call and Dispatch in terms of the "current" card and stack?

Inter-Stack Messaging

Hi! I have an architecture that uses multiple main stacks. They use each others data. I can send messages between them. My question is: Is their a property of a message that tells me it's sender? Or do I need to put that information in the message? Thanks! Walt -- In stack A send "myMessage"&myParam...

Search for quoted string in Forums

Hi It would help me a lot if the search function here allowed a quoted string to be searched for, like "repeat for each card" for example. It currently treats a quoted string as an unquoted list of search terms.

Re: Linux Idiot Question

Mark, I got it working. I made an x32 Ubuntu build, it was apparently the x64 build that had an issue.

Re: Linux Idiot Question

No, Mark, it does nothing from either the command line or from the GUI. From the GUI the Properties call it an executable, as does ls -l.

Do you think it might be an x32 versus x64 install issue?

Linux Idiot Question

I used to know quite a lot about Unix but became a manager around the time SVR4 and GUIs came out... Anyway, I have RevMedia sitting on a Ubuntu 9.10 desktop on an x64 machine (I installed a stick version), and it just sits there when I attempt to run it. Nothing in the README on Linux. I vaguely re...

Differences between cantAbort and allowInterrupts

What are the differences between "cantAbort" and "allowInterrupts"? They appear in the Dictionary to be complements of each other, except that in their default settings of False would appear to conflict.

Loosely related to this, I can get the stack windowID and an image pixmapID, are there any examples of how to get their HWND for an external's use? I thought I had seen one in here but now cannot find it.

Thanks,
Walt

A Question From The Old Days

I seem to remember from way back in early Mac developing, if certain variable names were kept to 4 characters they were compiled directly, but variable names over 4 were tokenized and added an additional dereference step during execution. Does anything like that still exist in RR?

Thanks,
Walt

Minor correction at the end since the repeats need their last iteration rolled back:

answer char tStartChar+1 to tEndChar-1 of field fText
