Re: how to get to the top of a table field

Hi. "Find" is a little odd in that, if after a successful find the little block is drawn around the foundText, and you try to find something again, it will often (not always) simply erase that box and stare at you. Here is a little demo. Make a button near your table field. Put this in its script: o...

Put this into the field script: on rawkeyDown tkey get the selectedChunk if the selectedtext contains "-" then exit to top if word 4 of it > word 2 of it then put word 2 of it into startChar put word 4 of it into endChar else put word 4 of it into star...

Re: Best way to validate SSN

So much fun. Make a new field. Put this in its script: on keyDown tKey if tKey is an integer and the length of me < 11 then put tKey after me if the length of me < 8 and the last char of me is an integer then set the imageSource of the last char of me to arrow if the length of me = 3 or the length o...

Re: A ton of stacks got attached to my one stack - how do I get rid of them all?

Cant wait to see the contents of the dropdown. Regardless of whether or not these stacks are preceded by "rev", how could they be considered mainstacks of, er, the mainstack?

Re: Old standalones work, IDE versions don't

Can you set a breakpoint in the keyUp handler, and then see what object holds the script? It will be listed at the top of the SE. You can then insert another line asking for the topStack.

Re: A ton of stacks got attached to my one stack - how do I get rid of them all?

You understand that there can be only one mainStack in any stack file, though possibly many substacks.

So if you have lots of mainstacks in that list, that would be very interesting indeed.

Hmmm.

You are saying that there are many mainStacks in that dropDown? Can you send a screenshot of the top menuItems?

Ah,

What Jacque said.

I did not put together that you were using opening old stack in a new version of LC.

Hi.

"Associated with"? Are they all in the stack file of your mainStack?

Are they substacks? In other words, if you ask for the "subStacks" of your mainStack. do you get a long list?

This seems rather high. I would post the stack to QCC.

Re: Using scale factor, I cannot drag and drop items

@ Mike.

It does work, it just does not track the visual location of the drop point. The control is on the card; the question is where.

Re: Using scale factor, I cannot drag and drop items

Hi. If you have a stack with scale factor set to "1", and drag a button from the tool palette, it will drop where you leave it. But if you do that with a smaller (or larger) scaleFactor, it will not. LC does not seem to take this property into account when dragging controls from outside, at least in...

Why not just try it?
I wrote earlier:
Hold on. There, I just did it. v 8.1.9
To be fair to Jacque, I also tried it in 9.0.1. I just didn't mention it. I loaded v9 and tested, and then went back to my trusty v.8 and posted.

Re: scrollbars and placing more controls than the page allows

Once you see how you can "scroll" your group in both x and y, you can either use a slider to set the scroll, or do so without any visible gadget under script control. For example, you could use the mouseLoc, scaled as you require, to change the scrolls of the group. Write back if any of this makes s...

Re: scrollbars and placing more controls than the page allows

Grouping sounds good, but how do I PLACE the items on the screen without scrollbars in the IDE? Did you try my experiment? Remember that you have to reduce both the rect of the group and the rect of the card to really play with the concept. You do not need scrollbars at all, since they can be distr...
