Re: ODBC database does nothing...also doesn't return erros

And here is all the code - things are a bit spread out at the moment since I am just trying to test things out before I actually start development The database connect button: global gSCDBID on mouseUp repeat forever ask "Enter your Service Center User ID:" titled "Service Center Log In" put the toU...

Re: ODBC database does nothing...also doesn't return erros

I have actually tried it both ways - single quotes and double quotes. Same (lack of) results with both and no error message. Good catch though - I should have posted the first try, which had single quotes.

ODBC database does nothing...also doesn't return erros

I am trying to query a database through an ODBC connection and I am continuing to have no luck. I know I can connect to the database, and I have the right port info and version of the connector, because I am able to connect using tools other than Livecode (I can browse the database with QTODBC 6.1, ...

Re: ODBC connection problem

Never mind - turns out the system admins gave me the wrong port number for the ODBC connection.

ODBC connection problem

Does anyone see anything wrong with the following: get revOpenDatabase("odbc", "sc_report_odbc", , gUserName, gUserPass, "emulated static") I am on Windows XP Professional (yeah, not my choice), the ODBC driver is installed and set up as a system DNS with the name sc_report_odbc. I have validated th...

Re: Zoom View

Thanks Mark - I knew about the magnify for the paint tool - I am thinking more about a full-window magnify that would work with anything, including the object oriented drawing tools.

Zoom View

It would be excellent to be able to zoom the view in and out. Mostly in. It would make the drawing tools much more usable.

Re: Fixed length to delimted - is there a faster way?

Okay, so it's down from minutes to .2 seconds. I think I am satisfied with that. Thanks for your help. The problem was that, as I usually do I erred on the side of readability vs. compactness. Broke statements out into more lines than needed, used terms like "the last char of" rather than "char -1" ...

Re: Fixed length to delimted - is there a faster way?

I hope this makes sense... 1: either 0 or 8 2: either 0 or 7 but padded with leading zeros I have to remove 3: 0-20 4: 1-8 5: either 0 or 4 6: 4-6 7: 6 or 7 8: 0-20 9: 4-6 10: 0-21 and I lied...there are only 10 elements. It looks like moving the data from one variable to another is much faster - I ...

Fixed length to delimted - is there a faster way?

I have a very large (tens of thousands of lines) text file generated by a mainframe reporting system. The data is fixed length, so each element (11 per line) is separated by spaces, and the number of spaces between elements varies on each line, depending on the length of each element. Right now I am...

Re: Will RunRev be Allowed for iPhone/iPad?

A lower entry point for revMobile (even if it was limited to just allowing creation of iOS apps) would be reason for me to buy an iPad!

Game Controller in Windows?

Is it possible to read a game controller (say, the pretty standard Microsoft xbox 360 wired usb game controller) in Windows using Revolution? I am assuming that there is probably some way to do it, but I have no idea where to even start looking.

Hide Data Grid subobjects from Geometry Manager

The Application browser only displays the highest level "group" object associated with a data grid. It would be great if the geometry manager did the same - right now the list on the application I am working on is about 15 virtual feet long and it's impossible to find anything on it, including the p...

Improved Variable watching in debugger

I would like to see improvements made to the viable watcher in the debugger. Right now it's not possible to instance a seperate window to watch a variable when the variable is empty or less than 1 line long - it would be useful to be able to create an independant window regardless of the state of a ...
