Re: LiveCode 7.1 and XCode 7

You need xcode 6.4 which can be downloaded from the developer site... but you need a dev account for that. Just place the xcode app in it's own subfolder and run it once, then specify that folder in LC.

Re: LiveCode 8.0.0 App Browser

I read things like 'i just don't like the project browser' which isnt really helpful. What don't you like? Try it and specify what's bothering you. I use the project browser. What I don't like about the LC IDE is that panels jump all over the place. You want them to remember their last position and ...

Re: Go to card slow

go to card x is slow the first time it is called on mobile... slow as in 2 seconds delay. Frequent revisits whether or not the contents of it are changed through db are fast. There is nothing special about it. Tested it with some console debug commands.... While typing this post I got into some inve...

sooo easy to delete random objects

Its way to common to delete an object by mistake... at least on Mac OS. Backspace while typing in some palette (contents property, message box, ...) and using backspace is dangerous... It deletes selected objects in the project browser without warning. Happened multiple times already. I even once ha...

Re: Licecode, xcode and iOS 9

Download a LC supported version of xcode from apple dev portal and you can continue developing. A new ios version doesnt mean LiveCode gets new or better features. Only applies if youre developing with xcode. I use old xcode for building wit LC and newer one to out the binary onto the device for tes...

Re: SQLite problem

You can open an SQLite db more than once/concurrent usage. But it's just that Dropbox is not suitable for this because it has it's own sync mechanism and tries to be intelligent about it... which does not work with a shared db file. Dropbox does not work on a live copy. Each pc has its own copy of t...

How about seggesting features for feature exchange? Cross platform multi channel low latency sound support would be a good one... And long due too.

Re: datagrid form background color by code

Well, I just forget about the form datagrid and make one myself with a scrolling group since I don't need the datagrid features and I have full control that way. Works better to on mobile I think.

datagrid form background color by code

How can I change the background color of a row depending on the data in form mode?
I see a graphic "Background". And in FillInData I can set the background, but seems it's overruled somewhere higher...
I can add an extra graphic "Background2", but then hi-lighting of the selected row stops working.

Re: (custom) properties are unwieldy?

I think it would be relatively easy to implement a object and property lookup cache (or is there already?). At least that would fix some inefficient programming and at best speed up operation of LiveCode everywhere.

(custom) properties are unwieldy?

Look at this... set the p1 of btn id tid to the p1 of btn id tid + 1 It's lengthy to write. frustratingly so if you need to refer to multiple properties multiple times in compare and assign statements.. and inefficient too... while add 1 to the p1 of btn id tid is not valid code. and this: put the c...

Re: mobilePlaySoundOnChannel cached?

Enhancement request made.. http://quality.runrev.com/show_bug.cgi?id=15951 Playing a (really short) sound for the first time (or after 10 seconds again) does slow down the app for an instant on a fast ipad air 2, even with a send command. It's a shame, cause the animation runs good apart from that p...

Re: mobilePlaySoundOnChannel cached?

Well some experimenting.. mobilePlaySoundOnChannel is blocking while the sound is loaded, not async which would be usefull for such a function (async is return immediately and go on while the sound is loaded (and then played)).. can get around that with a send "playsound" to me in 0 millisec. Then y...
