### Re: Way to find the points of where startAngle and circle me

Thank you Craig. I will be playing with this for the next several hours. I can see where the answer to my question lies somewhere in there. I just need to figure out how to tie "arg" and the surrounding formula to a 0-360 scale. It may take awhile, but I think I can figure it out. Heck, I'm just pro...

### Way to find the points of where startAngle and circle meet

What I need is a way to retrieve the points values of where a circle circumference and a line from it's center at the startAngle would cross. I was hoping that it was a property, but it seems that I will need a formula. Trigonometry is not one of my strengths, so can someone make it simple?

### Re: remove characters from a string

if the format will always be the same, you could so something like this replace "\$" with empty in fld "myfield" replace "," with empty in fld "myfield" replace space with empty in fld "myfield" If other unwanted characters are a possibility, then a repeat loop that looks at each character in the fie...

### Re: Empty string as the last item of a list

I'm probably misunderstanding, but variables can be empty and don't disappear just because they have no content, just as a field can still exist even when it has no text. The delimiter issue only applies to lists, not the variables that contain them. But maybe that's what you meant. I guess in my e...

### Re: Empty string as the last item of a list

I don't know, but possibly to keep the list in more natural format. It allows the list to be placed in a field without trailing punctuation, which is what I think most people expect. Since working with the resulting list still produces an accurate item count, a missing trailing delimiter isn't an i...

### Re: Empty string as the last item of a list

I still don't see what's so hard to grasp about this concept: A delimiter terminates the string it follows. This is neither stupid nor dated, it's just how it has to work in this language. Any other implementation introduces problems that are harder to solve and which would require more workarounds...

### Re: Centering the main stack

It will not work on preOpenSack, because the stack is not open to be acted on. Try it on openStack with send.

Code: Select all

``````send "centerME CONTACTS DEMO" to me in 10 milliseconds
``````

Missed the post with code, thanks it works, I'll start adding some more rules to it.

If I'm not mistaken, the reason it works on keyUp and not on keyDown, is that on keyDown the key value has not yet registered in the field, so "me" evaluates as empty.

### Re: percentage validation

Hi Simon & Magice, I've tried that and indeed it passes through the number into the field. The thing is it bypasses the 100 limit after the first time it fails the validation limit, I'm assuming tKey is just validating against each number I type in rather than the entire contents of the field. Magi...

### Re: percentage validation

try it with keyUp

Code: Select all

``````on keyUp tKey
if tKey is in "1234567890." then
if (me > 0) and (me < 100) then
pass keyUp
else
answer "100 is the maximum limit"
delete the last character of me
exit keyUp
end if
end if
end keyUp
``````

### Re: Buttons don't disappear

I moved all of the code from the stack script to the card script, the button was still visible when printing the pdf. I then did a separate test by starting a new stack, adding a button and attaching the following script to the button: on mouseUp set the visible of button "Button" to false end mous...

### Re: Buttons don't disappear

Is it possible that button "btnPrint" is on a card other than the active card? If so adding "of cd CardNumber" could be the answer. I see nothing wrong with the code posted here , so it has to be something happening out of the scope of what you posted.

### Re: Seperating a list by unique items

I'm trying to do something I'm sure is simple, but I can't find how to do it. I'm probably missing something! I have a list in a variable, lets call it "StimList". The list has 80 lines, and each line has 3 items, all 3 items are words. For example lines 1-4 might look like: file.bmp, file2.bmp, di...

### Re: LC Crash - is this a known cause...

Is this a case where you want to increment tCAlCount, or is it a case where you just want to specify that "1" is a positive number? And, if it's the former, does that incrementation effect the termination of the loop? If so try "add 1 to tCalCount"

### Re: Some fundamental concepts

Thanks Magice. That's a great visual :lol: But in this case what I would like to know is the gory low level details of how it is implemented. What is actually making the connection. Do we have some kind of message queue, and a process that picks the message together with the target(in this case the...
