Re: Get content of DataGrid row with mouse double-click

Here is a function for getting the info of whatever row is selected on a dataGrid that has a list of clients. The function uses that info to fill out a form with various fields: /********************************************************* select function --selecting a client from the datagrid ********...

Re: New Let's Encrypt SSL certs active yet?

In that case it should work just fine. You can test to see if your ssl cert is in place by just visiting https://yourdomain.com

Re: New Let's Encrypt SSL certs active yet?

That is just a rule that says something like: if someone visits this website using http, then switch it to use https

you will still need to get your cert from LE. Who is your web-host? or do you have your own server?

Re: POST_[] RESULT to TEXT FIELD

Also, just a thought: you can post directly to your online application and have it process your data and get a response without having to use the html form, unless you just need the person to go to the website for some reason.

Re: POST_[] RESULT to TEXT FIELD

<input type="text" name="textname" value="<?lc put $_POST["this"] ?> The "result" I had put in the first code I posted is how to get the response from your remote application. You would not actually use "result" in your web-application and can ignore that bit of code if you do not need it, although...

Re: POST_[] RESULT to TEXT FIELD

Well, it depends on what your application on the webserver looks like. Is it PHP? Do you have access to the script it is sending to?

Re: POST_[] RESULT to TEXT FIELD

Assuming your variables are "tThis" and "tThat" and "tOther" put "https://yoururl.com" into gURL put "this=" & tThis & "&that=" & tThat & "&tid=" & tOther into tStuffToPost --post it to the server post tStuffToPost to URL gURL --decode the response put it into tResults

Re: What is the best DE for using Livecode with Ubuntu 18.04?

Thanks everyone for the tips, suggestions and ideas. Currently I am happy with Kubuntu v. 18.04, running the most recent Livecode on its own virtual-desktop, with Backdrop enabled. I have not had any more problems with palettes vanishing. Livecode does not interfere with anything I have running on o...

Re: What is the best DE for using Livecode with Ubuntu 18.04?

I messed around some more and found the following: If I have backdrop turned off, then things work as expected until I open the message-box. After that, if I click on a blank area of my desktop, the tools palette vanishes. Clicking on the message box brings the tools palette back. If I enable the ba...

Re: What is the best DE for using Livecode with Ubuntu 18.04?

I was able to get LC 9 to behave in Kubuntu by following these steps:

Open Livecode.
Open an app I am working on
Go to Preferences and click the "Reset All Preferences to Defaults"

Save stack

Close everything out and re-open. Viola!! No more disappearing windows.

Re: What is the best DE for using Livecode with Ubuntu 18.04?

I played around with Xubuntu. It was ok, but I ended up going back to Kubuntu. After messing around with resetting all preferences to defaults a couple of times, the Tool Bar stopped disappearing (at least for now). So far (now that I have the windows behaving) Kubuntu has been the nicest desktop fo...

Re: What is the best DE for using Livecode with Ubuntu 18.04?

Thanks for the tips. I am trying xubuntu-desktop now, and if it works out I might just do a clean install.

What is the best DE for using Livecode with Ubuntu 18.04?

Since I upgraded to 18.04 and do not care for the Gnome DE, I have been searching around for something else to use. Using latest stable LC 9. I liked budgie desktop quite a bit, but unfortunately Livecode does not like it at all...frozen desktop, gray screen, crashes and such. Deepin was promising, ...
