Re: Creating user interface

Probably a few other things should be mentioned, and Jacque, I'd love to hear your comments on these since they used to (and occasionally still do) confuse me. If you want the background on ALL cards, then create it on Card 1, check backgroundBehavior , like Jacque said, and then just rightclick and...

Re: Message Box is dead

Since I've been uninstalling Livecode to try to solve this problem, I figured it's safe to poke around in the IDE a bit. If I screw something up, no problem, I just reinstall. So, I noticed that some things that I would expect to find in a preference file seem to be stored in the individual .rev sta...

Re: Message Box is dead

Wow, I'm feeling pretty useless lately. How do you send a private message? I changed my status to allow people to email me, but couldn't find a way to send one to anyone.

My email is m & pezzo & @ & gmail & dot & com

Re: Message Box is dead

Still no luck. I looked in the folders Shaosean mentioned, and searched through any additional preference folders I could find (i.e., at the system level, in the Application Support Files folder, and via spotlight). I simply can't find any evidence of a preference file for livecode. But, clearly one...

Re: Message Box is dead

I don't appear to have a preferences file for Livecode. I've looked in the ../Library/Preferences/ folder, but can't find anything that looks remotely related to LC. What is the file called, and where is it located?

Thanks,
Mark

Re: Message Box is dead

I wish that were the case, but I've tried doing this (putting cursor in lower box and hitting return) and every variant I could think of, and still I get no response.

Message Box is dead

I'm in version 4.6.4, and for some reason the message box has stopped responding to anything I type, except to put "revErrorDisplay" at the top of the window when I hit enter. I've tried the single and multiple window, then I rebooted my mac (OSX 10.7.3), then I reinstalled the entire LiveCode appli...

Re: Message Box doesn't update variables correctly

Craig, I think Laralyn is talking about the "global properties" window in the message box. You have to click on the little icon of the "world" to see it (and you have to click the triangle over at the far right to even see the icons) And yes, Laralyn the message box is about as buggy as it gets. I c...

Re: Undo a change *to* the object library stack

Okay, problem solved. I used the find command to search all open stack files for the name of the button. Fortunately, it was not a common one. Double clicked on the result and the script window opened. I then copied the full id of the button (from the top of the script window) and then, in the messa...

Undo a change *to* the object library stack

Here's one I didn't think possible. I had saved a button in the object library plugin, and wanted to place it in a card. I clicked on "Place object" but didn't realize that I didn't actually have any stacks open -- EXCEPT for the object library stack. So, it placed my button alright -- right smack i...

Re: Any Live Coders in Tampa Bay, Florida?

Mike, Just saw this. I'm a Psychology Professor (Human Judgment) at USF St. Petersburg, and live in Safety Harbor. I use LiveCode for my research and occasionally for class demonstrations or tutorials (I teach Statistics). I'd love to come to meetings. I have at least one student who would probably ...

Re: How do you rotate text on card

Go to www.tactilemedia.com

Click on "software" and then "tutorials & demos" and you'll find a bunch of free stacks including one called "Text Spinner". As Steve suggested, it uses images, and well worth a look.

good luck!

Re: Deployment to WEB

Dixie, I forgot to mention that the particular computer I'm on is a Windows machine using XP. Sorry for the confusion! As for patience,... I only post my "when is chrome-ready plug-in coming?" about once every 6 months. This is the *third* time I've posted. I'd say waiting 1.5 years for something is...
