Share my app online

I'm using Revolution Studio 2 version 2.8.1. and I've made a little program for fun and want to put it on my web page for download. I've made my standalones. The windows .exe standalone seems to copy all right to the hosting site and I can download it (although I don't have a PC and can't test it) b...

Oh, I have the new stuff, but I'm still using Studio 2.8.1 for many things.

Re: Want to Make an Index for My Web Page

How did you know I was so old? :D It's nice to know that I belong to an exclusive group that knows abbreviations like HC. Back to topic: However, answer fld "filelist" gets me nothing. Neither does answer bg fld "filelist" But answer cd fld "filelist" seems to work. Long live Bill Atkinson! Tom

Re: Want to Make an Index for My Web Page

It works! I just wrote: on mouseup set the folder to "/users/tomcole/Backup Google Drive/more web Material/" put the files into tFiles put tfiles into cd fld "filelist" end mouseup Now I can have a huge list and you can search it and click to extract any specific sheep from the entire herd of sheep ...

Re: Want to Make an Index for My Web Page

Ah, I see this: put the files into field "Current Files" repeat with x = 1 to the number of lines of the detailed files put the files & the folders into diskContents[the defaultFolder] But how to I point it to the folder "allmysitefiles" or something. I'm not very good at this. Has to do with the de...

Want to Make an Index for My Web Page

I have a web page with lots of stuff in it. I want an index of all the files in it so you can see at a glance what's in it and go to pages fast. So, I'd like to have RunRev look into a folder named, say: allmywebpagefiles and import a list of all the file names. Then I could alphabetize them and sti...

Re: Export a pdf from Runrev

Stephen, Here's what I did by cannibalizing around. Excuse the commented out lines. Give it a try. 1. I made a stack called PdfMaker and put a field on it called PdfField on its card 1: on mouseUp global pdfname put "Finished Document.pdf" into pdfname open stack "MyPdfStack" go cd 1 of stack "MyPdf...

Ah, I see what you mean. I was just checking the buttons as directed, but you need to have the thing highlighted in blue. Thanks.

Graphic Effects Grayed Out

I'm trying to make a button into a nice icon with this lesson: http://chum210.byu.edu/InClass/ButtonIconsExercise.pdf

However, when I click any of the items like "inner glow" all the area below is grayed out. What gives? Am I missing some component of LiveCode Community 6.0?

Re: Basic Lesson for Putting Database on Line

The online database stuff looks like a bit of work for me. I think I'll stick to the way I'm doing it. I've already created my own custom web page maker for my data. It makes static pages from my database with links to images and things so the web pages are nice. Rinky dink, but it works!

Re: Basic Lesson for Putting Database on Line

Yes, I have to admit that the journal part of the database is actually separate and tab delimited for that reason. I need my commas. Bird comments can't have any commas and my little program won't allow them in the comma-delimited part as it would ruin everything. But I'm not sure what you mean when...

Basic Lesson for Putting Database on Line

I've made a flat, simple database for birds and have begun to make web pages for each day of birding. However, there are hundreds of trips. Thus, making a webpage for each trip is getting too time consuming even though I use runrev to create webpages. There are only five items in the comma delimited...

Re: source code for royalty-free standalone

Another issue is what rights you are giving up by making the source code public. People can do what they want with my ham-and-egg coding. Why should I care? However, if I include the stack in an application that I sell, does this give all and sundry the right to make their own standalones and happil...

Simon,
This is so much simpler. Thank you. It gets a lot of the job done with ease.
