resize card with minimum width and height

Hey Guys,

How would I set the minimum height and width a user can to resize my card? Can I do this stack specific, so if I apply this at the Main stack and will it cascade down, or does it have to be done on each individual card.

Many thanks

repeat loop - exit to top

Hey all, I have a repeat loop. There are two conditions I want to check for - if both are true I don't want to execute any code below the if condition, I just want to loop back to top increment my tIndex by 1 and then work my way down the loop if the condition is not met. I know I can block the code...

Re: Operators *: error in left operand

Hi Craig, Thanks, I seem to make things more complicated then they have to be. Dont know why. The line of code you posted earlier (below) producing false so I guess the function isn't quite stripping out everything I was expecting. Thanks for the snippet of info. answer (accountancyFormatRemove(fiel...

Operators *: error in left operand

Hey all, I'm having trouble with the following line of code. Its says (Operators *: error in left operand), char 12. field fld_rate contains values like $ 1,250.50 and field hours could have 5.5. I'm using the function bn suggested in my last thread http://forums.livecode.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=228...

padding on fields

Hi Guys, It's probably under my nose but can't seem to find it. I have a field which has the text aligned property set to align right. I have a border around the field and I have typed a number in that field. There seems to be 4mm gap between the edge of the right border of that field and the last d...

Re: remove characters from a string

Thank you all for the replies, interesting subject. @bn, thanks finally got regex working in my code. Was interested in your benchmarks, seems like Livecode interprets its own commands more efficiently even though they are verbose compared to the regex. Now that I have both methods working working (...

Re: remove characters from a string

Hi James, Tried that, still doesn't seem to be stripping any characters. I read on one of the earlier posts that the LiveCode engine didn't like the regex in the actual replaceText command (it could of been a early version), the poster suggested the engine prefers the regex to be in a field or varia...

Re: remove characters from a string

Hi all, Thank you Magice for your reply. I've created a function using your suggested code, with multiple replaces which strip out the characters I've requested in my initial post. I didn't realise it would be as verbose as that, as in FileMaker you would simply nest substitute('this is my text';["T...

Re: datagrid and customproperties

Thanks to both of you for your replies. Got it working in the end, syntax was correct but I was trying to set the dgdata in the wrong handler, I should have been setting the custom properties via the FillInData Handler. Wish run rev would release a datagrid like control, but something that was a lot...

datagrid and customproperties

Hi Guys, I need some help please with a custom property issue I'm encountering in a datagrid. I have a datagrid setup as a form and inside the dg, I have a 3 of fields, all labelled appropriately. However when I populate the grid, it seems to only accept values into "Label 2", "Label 3", "Label 4" w...

remove characters from a string

Hi Guys, I have a field which contains the following type of data, $ 1,000,680.45 - i'd like to sanitise the field so that it removes all characters apart from numbers (0-9) and a decimal point. Are there any built in functions that will do this. I've done a quick search on the net, regex seems to b...

Re: percentage validation

Hi Guys, Thanks all for chiming in with responses. Here is my final code which seems to cover all the rules I want, do you guys think I'm missing anything? It should accept input such as 17.5, 100, 20 and shouldn't accept the enter key. Thanks Jalz on keydown tKey if tKey is in "1234567890." then --...
