Re: Dash docset creator for LiveCode

Re: Dash docset creator for LiveCode

Where could I download the archive: LiveCode.tgz?

I could try to drop this file into the docset folder
of the android app "Lovely Docs" to learn if the
app recognizes the .tgz archive as a new docset.

Re: Why do so few schools try LiveCode...?

Richmond, a few years ago, I discovered with amazement that exists a tendency in education who propose that teachers should become skilled entertainers and compete along television hosts, radio personalities, actors and musicians for the time and attention of their customers... I mean, their student...

Re: Why do so few schools try LiveCode...?

Today, any student could use LiveCode to create (and share) their own personal learning stacks, just like many student's stacks in UMICH archives: http://umich.edu/~archive/mac/hypercard/ I propose that LiveCode creates a student's international contest (with prizes provided only by local sponsors) ...

Re: Why do so few schools try LiveCode...?

Then , we just have to prove them that they are wrong. :D LiveCode is excellent for teaching programming and problem solving. Learning Livecode as First Computer Language opens the door to learn and master other computer languages. Just to prove this, we could include in every lesson, an interactive...

Re: Why do so few schools try LiveCode...?

Probably, the cost of 46 pounds includes access to LiveCode support
and much more.

Open Source version is, as you explain, Community supported.

By the way, What do you think about translating MetaTalk Programmer
to Bulgarian or many other languages?

Re: Dash docset creator for LiveCode

Really nice! Thanks a lot for posting these images 8) I noticed that docsets use a few mySQLite databases and a folder with images and thousands html formatted webpages. I tried (and failed) to use this docset in Android, using the App named "Lovely Docs" but this unsupported app does not recognize ...

Re: Exporting snapshots of objects.

Interesting enough, a warning about the Export Snapshot path should be added to the Dictionary and Wikia: http://livecode.wikia.com/wiki/Export_snapshot http://docs.runrev.com/Command/export-snapshot Dictionary reads: The filePath specifies the name and location of the file you want to export to. If...

Re: Why do so few schools try LiveCode...?

Richmond, Do you want to translate these stacks to bulgarian and test if bulgarian teachers and bulgarian-speaking students could learn better programming concepts if LiveCode is written in their own language? http://www.canelasoftware.com/mc/metacard25/mtp.mc http://www.canelasoftware.com/mc/metaca...

Re: Why do so few schools try LiveCode...?

If they want to teach C++, Java, Python, Javascript, etc, etc, then
let's teach them how to use LiveCode to make an interactive course
for their language of choice!
