Re: Simulate keypress in a script

This topic is really interesting and after reading all answers
I wonder if LiveCode allows to send a keypress to another
application (like Open Office) from a LiveCode application
or from a stack opened in the IDE.

Re: distorted graphics when using move or set loc

If you add the graphic effect "drop shadow" or "outer glow"
to the circle vector graphic, then the clipping effect
is not visible anymore.

Please try adding these effects and post your results.

Could you try this with Older LC versions too?
LC 9.0 and 8.1.10 show this bug in
my own setup.

Re: New approach for offline viewing PDF inside Android browser

Hi Youks, After downloading MaxV zipped folder, I was able to load an online PDF after replacing the original button script with this handler: on mouseUp set the url of widget 1 to "https://www.ic.unicamp.br/~pannain/mc404/aulas/pdfs/Art%20Of%20Intel%20x86%20Assembly.pdf" end mouseUp Notice that Max...

Re: PDF printing problem

Check this PDF saved from a Livecode stack. You could select
and copy the text.

Compare the PDF with a screenshot of the stack.

The PDF printing parameters selected for this specific stack
explain the visible differences.

Re: PDF printing problem

Probably I am doing something wrong, but I could print text fields to PDF using open printing. In fact, the PDF is produced by Livecode using a pdf printer driver from Cairo Graphics Project version 1.14.6 By the way, Cairo Graphics Project produces a svg printer driver that produces svg files for s...

Re: Calculating Text baselines in pixels

Hi All, After consulting other sources, the most accurate method is read truetype or opentype font and get the value directly from the font binary data. I will try this now. Update: This works! put url ("binfile:" & specialFolderPath("fonts") & slash & "arial.ttf") Now, I just have to convert the bi...

Re: Calculating Text baselines in pixels

Hi All, Probably a screenshot and scripts for finding a pixel difference could make the job. By the way, looks like the font baseline rest 1 pixel above the line visible after setting the showlines property. http://livecode.wikia.com/wiki/ShowLines The purpose of getting the exact x,y coordinates of...

Re: Calculating Text baselines in pixels

Hi Craig, But you have answered this yourself. If you have, say, the formattedRect of line 2 of fld "yourField", then the last item of that function is the baseline of that line, no? No, is not. The last item of the formattedrect is 359 pixels from top (the bottom of the green rectangle) while the t...

Calculating Text baselines in pixels

Hi All, How could we calculate text baselines in pixels starting from the top of the stack? (Number 5 in the image) Livecode offers closely related properties. For example: formattedLeft measures the left of the character starting from stack's left. formattedTop measures the top of the character sta...

Re: Library in LiveCode

Hi Jacque, [snip] Another type of library is a "script-only stack" with extension .livecodescript. This type of library is just a text file on disk. When it is put in use, LC creates a temporary stack in RAM and inserts the script from the text file into the message path as a backscript, the same wa...

Re: Changing PDF orientation or rotating PDF before display

Hi Youks, I found this answer in stackOverflow after searching for the phrase "pdf.js rotate page" in google. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/45813712/how-to-rotate-single-page-in-whole-pdf-using-pdfjs You could try this script which allow you to rotate all pages incrementally and reset all of t...

Finding the correct words for google searching, sometimes requires a lot of lateral thinking. That is, sometimes you have to search for som...
