Re: Formatting text saved in an array

And if you want to get obsessive about performance, arrays can contain arrays, so you could use the styledText of the field instead of the htmlText:

Code: Select all

put the styledText of fld 2 into tArray[fld 1]

Re: Vexing inconsistent problem with click location. Crazy!!

I'll install Community on my wife's MacBook Air, and try my test stack on her machine. I will also download a fresh copy of Community on my machine, see what happens. That seems a good step. (I used to be Tim, or Timothy Miller, or Doctor Timothy Miller, or possibly Timborino. I couldn't log in to ...

Re: Vexing inconsistent problem with click location. Crazy!!

If the LiveCode engine is corrupted, it probably won't run. If it runs we can usually rule that out. If a stack is corrupted, it probably won't open. If it opens at can usually rule that out. If everything works splendidly but one very specific thing, that's probably a bug. And if that bug is not ev...

Maybe the mothership could add another "messageless" application which will create the standalone?
^ this

In MC building a standalone was not a disruptive process. It shouldn't be in LC either, and certainly shouldn't require modifying code just to build.

Re: Can't post a request for assistance

General search engines are useful for learning just about anything, and very useful here.

Still, I share your annoyance with PHPBB's defaults, and will see what I can do to encourage the site admin to alter them.

Re: Can't post a request for assistance

The board throws a misleading error message and refuses to accept my post, if it's too long. How long was the post? Is this forum still the best place for people like me to get LC assistance? These forums offer a better mix of audience breadth and features than the alternatives currently in place. ...

Re: How to include a node_module folder in livecode app

NPMs are Node.js packages. You'd need to be running the Node.js server package to use them, no? Please I dont understand the last word no? "No" is an English word signifying negation. When used as a separate clause at the end of a sentence followed by a question mark it's a short-hand way of asking...

Re: Where to store text lists?

You could use a separate stack file for storage. But if all you're storing is an array, maybe just save the array to disk. See arrayEncode and arrayDecode for serializing into a form suitable for transfer and storage.

Did you follow the instructions in the Release Notes about how to handle messages during build?

Re: Standalone compile never leaves closing open stacks

There's a note in v9 release notes about messages now being active during the build process. It is forbidden to shut down messages before starting a standalone build? No idea if this helps, hurts or doesn't matter to that process. I have no idea why the change was made. Ultimately building needs to...

What's happening in your closeStack handlers?

Re: Standalone compile never leaves closing open stacks

Yeah, I find PHPBB's default search settings annoying too. Thanks for bringing the project into the Chevy build. Helps rule out other causes. I'm able to build on Windows in the latest version without issue. I'm afraid that doesn't help my ability to diagnose this. Anyone else here able to reproduce...
