Re: BMI Calculator Example in iOS simulator

A little more investigation on my part has figured out that events are firing but that any communication with the outside world isn't working. This seems to prevent the browser object from loading a web page and also doesn't allow the getBMI function to get results back via HTTP. Is there some setti...

Re: What's the state of native looking widgets?

Takes only a few minutes to write a script that checks the LC controls on preOpenCard and then calls mobileControlCreate for those that have mobile-native counterparts. Others prefer scripting that instantiation themselves. Either way, you get true mobile-native controls without needing a third-par...

BMI Calculator Example in iOS simulator

I worked through the interactive welcome that shows how to build the BMI Calculator app. When I try running this in the iOS simulator, I figured out that I have to include the headerBar widget on the Copy Files of the Standalone Application Settings in order for the the title and the clear button to...

What's the state of native looking widgets?

It seems like for a time mobGui was one way of making native looking widgets on iOS. Now, when you click on "buy" at their website, it just takes you to the LiveCode products page. When I click on "Extensions" there, I don't see anything about iOS widgets. Also, there is a competing library of iOS w...

Re: Paste Text into Browser [accepting bids for solution]

Hi. I took your code and put it in a button. Then I added a field and named it "Statements" In the "Statements" field I placed the following code: Set WshShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell") WshShell.SendKeys "^v" In your code, I made the following modification: on countUp if cntr >5 then -------> ...

Re: Provisioning Profile *NOT* recognized

I'm using LC 7.1 RC 1 and Xcode 6.4. I also have LC 7.0.6 installed and Xcode 6.3. I think I figured out the problem though. I changed standalone application name to match the name I set in my app id in my provisioning profile and now I have successfully loaded it on my iPhone. I probably should hav...

And, when I try and run it in the simulator (using the test button in LC), I get "Unable to start simulation: Installation Failed"

Re: Provisioning Profile *NOT* recognized

Hi! Thanks for the reply. I did what you said about removing my Apple ID & re-adding it in Xcode's preferences. Now, I can add a provisioning profile in LiveCode's standalone application settings. Yay! But, how do I load the app that it built onto my device? When I try adding it using devices window...

Provisioning Profile *NOT* recognized

Hi, I'm trying to compile and test on iOS for the first time. It's not going well. In order for LC to see my SDK, I've had to grab LC 7.1 RC. I had been trying LC 7.0.6 & Xcode 6.3 but my phone is upgraded to iOS 8.4 and Xcode 6.3 apparently doesn't work with that. So, I installed LC 7.1 RC. Now, I ...

Re: Prefs Stack Problems

I've started a new thread here:

http://forums.livecode.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=22215

so that people don't have to read everything that led to the discovery what appears to be the actual problem (and what I believe may be a bug in LC).

Search for required inclusions- not working

Hi. I'm starting a new thread because I think I've determined that the real problem I'm having is that in the Standalone Application Settings dialog, "Search for required inclusions when saving the standalone application" no longer works and using the "Select inclusions for the standalone applicatio...

Re: Prefs Stack Problems

Update- choosing "Select inclusions" in the build settings is the only way for me to build a standalone that works properly from this stack now. Frustrating that the "Search for required inclusions" option no longer works for this stack. Also, for some strange reason if I don't check "Font Support" ...

Re: Prefs Stack Problems

Klaus, Thanks for the reply. So, line one of volumes is always the boot volume? I wondered about that but didn't want to assume that it would always be the case. Interestingly, I have not manually decided what to include or not include in my standalone. I've always just had "Search for required incl...

Re: Prefs Stack Problems

Here's method that works fine in the IDE but exits at revMacFromUnixPath in a standalone: function getBootVolume if "Win" is in platform() then set itemDel to "/" put item 1 of tempName() into tVolume else if "Mac" is in platform() then set itemDel to "." if item 1 of the systemVersion >= 10 then --...

Re: Prefs Stack Problems

What appears to be (one of) the offending lines that works in the IDE but crashes in the standalone is this: put item 1 of revMacFromUnixPath("/") into tVolume Of course, the itemDelimiter is set to the colon. Works just fine in the IDE (tVolume becomes "Mac HD") produces the following error in the ...
