Doesn't scale for Hi-DPI

Just went to test a project on Ubuntu 18.04 (inside of a VirtulBox VM, host OS is Win10) on a Microsoft Surface Pro and discovered that when run, the UI of my app doesn't scale for the Hi-DPI display like the Windows build does. I have Ubuntu (default Desktop Environment) Display set to scale 200% i...

Livecode 9 menus look terrible in Ubuntu

Just installed Ubuntu 18.04 LTS today and after installing Livecode, I was reminded at just how terrible LC menus look in Ubuntu (one of the most popular distros). Here's what LC menus in Ubuntu currently look like: https://i.imgur.com/wSzCTef.png Here's what they should look like: https://i.imgur.c...

Download Runrev for OS9?

Hello, I'm having a big nostalgia trip this weekend. I recently acquired a PPC G4 Mac Mini and also discovered that the hacking community has produced a disc that allows one to install MacOS 9 (or Mac OS9 for the forum search engine, it seems to ignore terms like "mac" and "os") on it. Officially th...

The pause/skip is because the engine is counting every other click as a mouseDoubleUp. Add this to your stack script:

Code: Select all

on mouseDoubleUp
  send "mouseUp" to the target
end mouseDoubleUp
This absolutely solves the issue. Thank you!

Re: Cloned stacks seem to share globals & events

Sorry folks. I should have thought more before posting.

It's just my global variable that I was using as a semaphore that was being shared by all instances of the cloned stacks.

I made it a script local variable instead of a global and now everything is working like it should.

Re: Inconsistent UI response time

So, I changed the +/- buttons from rectangle buttons to standard buttons and this seemed to speed things up a little. I also tried using mouseDown instead of mouseUp, and it definitely speeds things up but, I don't like it because it is technically incorrect (the user should be able to slide out of ...

Cloned stacks seem to share globals & events

Hello, I've been building a simple count down timer app. Once I got it working like I want, I thought it would be nice to be able to have multiple timers so I added a "File, New" menu and in that handler, put the following code: case "New" clone stack "Count It Down" break So far, so good. After I b...

Re: Inconsistent UI response time

Randy,

Thanks for your reply. I had actually thought about lock screen (I've used it before). I just tried it and unfortunately it doesn't seem to have any effect.

Inconsistent UI response time

I'm working on a project in LiveCode 8.1.8 on macOS High Sierra 10.13.3 and I'm experiencing strange inconsistencies in the response time of my UI elements. I have a field with locked text that contains a number. Above it, I have a button with a plus in it and below it, I have a button with a minus ...

Backdrop is currently useless

I like the idea of the Backdrop but, so far, I've not found a Desktop Environment (DE) that it works in. I know that I've tried it in XFCE and Gnome 3. Trying to think if I've tried it in any others. I always have to disable it and find that a better strategy is to move Livecode to it's own desktop....

I'm still curious to know if there are is any documentation of examples of this technique you're describing.

Thanks.

Re: BMI Calculator Example in iOS simulator

Did you add libURL to the inclusions in standalone settings?
No, and I'm not 100% sure how to do this when building for iOS. Is it as simple as choosing "Internet" in the "Script Libraries" on the General page?
