Packaging a Standalone

So... I have created my first standalone app and I want to be able to send it to others. The problem is, that it uses a bunch of inclusions (pdf driver, database file, etc.. in total 9 files). Usually when you buy a program, there is an installer that automatically downloads everything and places it...

Re: Issues with Compiling

Thank you! So, I don't think it is inheriting the value because the size problem only appears in the stand alone version. I think it is somehow using the default Windows System font. In any case, the posts here gave me an idea which worked. I created a top level procedure that changes the textSize o...

Re: Issues with Compiling

So your post led me to discover that I can actually "hack" the answer and ask dialogue boxes. This potentially could solve the problem... except that changes do not seem to change. The ask and answer stacks remain unchanged when I leave and restart LiveCode. I have checked and the cantModify is fals...

Issues with Compiling

I have worked on an app for a few months, and did not compile to a standalone until today. I have discovered a few bugs, and any help would be very much appreciated. Problem 1-- The ask and answer dialogue boxes seem to have inherited a giant font for the buttons and the response field. I cannot fig...

Re: Barcode Generator UPC

On the one hand, this makes a beautiful looking barcode. But... it does not seem to scan which makes it less worthwhile. Thanks anyway!

Records with ,s and returns

I am very new to SQL and databases, so I apologize for what is probably an obvious question. I am using data that includes commas and returns. This seems to be a problem when building SQL Queries. I discovered that I could solve this problem when I insert a record by using :s as follows: put "INSERT...

Re: Test Target Greyed Out

So that last part was the trick... I did not realize I needed to select standalone settings. In fact, I really did not know that the simulation requires building a standalone - I thought that it would work dynamically ie I add something to my liveCode stack and immediately it is testable on the emul...

Re: Test Target Greyed Out

The good news is... when I downloaded jdk again (and LiveCode updated), this line is now populated. The bad news is... the test target is still greyed out. Frustrating.

Re: Test Target Greyed Out

I don't have such a folder, actually. There is no Java folder in the C:\Program Files folder.

I am not really sure what you mean. I could not find what you are asking for (my apologies). Is the attached helpful? Thank you so much for your help. Eric

Test Target Greyed Out

I am pretty new to LiveCode, although I was a SuperCard programmer, back in the day. :-) I am a teacher and would like to get my students to design apps using the Community Edition of LiveCode. But, I cannot get the Android emulator from the Development kit to work. I have careful followed all of th...
