Which objects are at a given screen location

Sorry, I'm having a brain freeze. I've got about 50 movable objects on my card. I want to be able to test which of these 50 are at screen location X,Y. I'm pretty sure that I could achieve this by: - creating a new (tiny) object at location X,Y; and then - Repeat for each object testObject on the ca...

Re: [SOLVED][android] how to keep Screen ON while running Ap

This forum has answered about 30 questions for me, and I've answered about 3 questions for forum members. I've still got a lot of forum karmic debt ;-)

Re: [android] how to keep Screen ON while running App

Have you tried mobileLockIdleTimer? The first time that I used this it didn't work because I forgot to also tick Idle Timer in the Android stand alone application settings.

Re: Setting mobile browser layer

Hi The browser widget seems to be working on IOS for me. This is what I did: 1) Add browser widget to an existing working stack 2) Open properties editor in browser widget, and input a valid URL 3) In standalone app settings > Copy files - tick the widget.browser box 4) Save as a standalone app 5) D...

Re: Can't save standalone - "In order to perform device buil

Thanks both. Will do as you advise. How do I stop XCode from downloading/installing new versions automatically? Sorry - but I'm a newbie to all-things-Apple ;-)

Can't save standalone - "In order to perform device builds,

I've been off IOS development for a couple of weeks. Today I've come back and started up LC 8.0.2 on OSX 10.11.6. Sometime in the last couple of weeks Xcode has updated to v8.0 and its now giving me the IOS10.0 simulator by default. On LC - I can no longer Save as Standalone IOS - I get a LC error m...

Re: In-App Purchase Error - Google Play Store

Hi Gary I'm NOT a LC or Android expert, but I got IAP working through shear bloody minded persistence. I have LC8.0.2 CONSUMABLE in-app purchases working with Android / Google Play Store using the following: On my "PurchaseIt" button - ... blah blah blah ... mobileStoreEnablePurchaseUpdates mobileSt...

Re: Loading Local Files with Browser Widget on Android

With regard to the original post - I've managed to get local html files working in the browser widget (on Windows IDE, Android simulator, and real Android device), but I had to use slightly different code depending on the environment. Switch the environment Case "mobile" set the URL of widget "Brows...

POST to URL is working for me (LC8.0.2). I haven't tried PUT or GET.

Stack resize in Android/IOS

In the real world in a mobile environment - what is going to cause the need to resize a stack? - the app first being opened on the device - change in device orientation - what else? Background - I'm coming to the conclusion that I've implemented massive over-kill in my resize stack handling. I'm eff...

Re: Success with testing in-app purchases

Hi Jim Yes - I've been able to load my LC 8 app onto the App Store, and in-app purchases are working. The link is below if you want to see it ;-) https://itunes.apple.com/app/id1125257501 Unfortunately I'm not going to be much help to you - as I'd score myself 1 out of 10 in terms of IOS experience....

Re: Return / Enter not detected on SOME phones

Thanks Max Unfortunately I have no way of testing your alternative as my original code worked fine on all of my test devices. My current (unconfirmed) thinking is that the most likely cause of the problem that approx 10% of users were encountering was OTHER apps redefining their phones keyboards (e....

Re: Detecting app termination

Thanks Jacque & Max 1) I couldn't get "On Shutdown" to trigger on Android when I either powered off the phone or terminated my app using the recent apps button. I've since found a note in the Livecode dictionary saying that the most reliable way to implement On Shutdown is in a "backscript" (which I...

Re: Detecting app termination

Thanks Max What I'm after is something that will work if the operating system decides to close (I'm not sure what the correct terminology is) my app. My understanding was that "On CloseStack" would not work in this situation, and I've tested "On Shutdown" and proven that it doesn't work in this situ...
