Solved - Encrypted Android standalone - 9 seconds to open

I realised that there was an easy solution available to me. Only 10% of my SVG widgets are "source". The other 90% of my SVG widgets are derived, by copying a source SVG widget, during the execution of my app. So I: 1) wrote a "SpringClean" handler which set the iconPath of my (approx 180) derived S...

Re: Encrypted Android standalone - 9 seconds to open

Damn - wrote a long reply then lost it when my forum connection timed out. Short version. I've identified that the problem is my 200 SVG widgets. If I reset the icon paths of these to the LC default icon path, then the load time for my encrypted Android standalone drops from over 8.5 seconds to unde...

Re: Encrypted Android standalone - 9 seconds to open

The above images have been displayed in order 3, 2, 1. The 4th, and final, output of the message watcher is attached below.

Re: Encrypted Android standalone - 9 seconds to open

In case it is helpful, I also attach the results of the Message Watcher (in the IDE, not the Android app).

Re: Encrypted Android standalone - 9 seconds to open

Thanks Max & Richard My app currently only has a main stack (with 6 cards). Contents include: - 3 images (about 50KB in total, with resize quality "normal") embedded in the app - 5 MP3 files (about 500KB in total) in Standalone > Copy Files - about 200 SVG widgets (I confess, I love SVG widgets) - a...

Solved - Encrypted Android standalone - 9 seconds to open

Hi I hope to get my second LC app (a puzzle game) onto the Google Play Store next week. I'm in the final stages of testing. I've now encrypted my app, using the message box "set the password of this stack to ..." method, where-as during earlier development & testing it was un-encrypted. On the 2nd l...

Re: Solved - mobileStoreRestorePurchases on Google Play

Thanks Panos Getting it to execute outside of the OpenCard handler makes all of the difference. On OpenCard // the first card in my stack if environment() is "mobile" then mobileStoreEnablePurchaseUpdates mobileStoreRestorePurchases // Does NOT work send "mobileStoreRestorePurchases" to me in 100 mi...

Re: mobileStoreRestorePurchases - on Google Play

Thanks Panos I've spent a few hours playing around with this. What I'm seeing is that: mobileStoreRestorePurchases works if it is called in a script that is located on a button. mobileStoreRestorePurchases does not work if it is called in a script that is located in the OpenCard handler of my first ...

Solved - mobileStoreRestorePurchases on Google Play

I'm trying to implement a non-consumable in-app purchase. Purchase sequence: mobileStoreEnablePurchaseUpdates mobileStoreSetProductType "com.runrev.sampleapp.nonconsumable", "inapp" mobileStoreMakePurchase "com.runrev.sampleapp.nonconsumable", "1", "This belongs to me" The purchase sequence successf...

Output of message watcher

Hi Recently I've been using the IDE Development > Message Watcher, to look for unexpected features in my code & hopefully speed things up a little. Mostly I feel that I understand the output that the Message Watcher is giving me. The major exception is that as my main card is starting up (after my m...

Re: Exorcist needed for ghost MP3 file - Solved

Sorry Klaus. I should have tried creating a new stack. It turns out that in the LC8.0.2 IDE on my windows 7 PC - Play abc.mp3 gives me X seconds of static / white noise sound, where X equals the length of abc.mp3 I got fooled by the fact that my original aaa.mp3 track was the sound of people clappin...

Exorcist needed for ghost MP3 file - Solved

I'm having a weird day ;-) Probably best that I start at the beginning. I'm trying (for the first time) to get sound working in an app. 1) I imported file aaa.mp3 as a control. 2) Then I read some posts about mp3 files not working on Android if imported as a control. So I deleted aaa.mp3. I could no...

Re: Which objects are at a given screen location

Wow. I'm totally overwhelmed by the generosity of your responses; and on a Sunday! The truth is that I had implemented a very basic solution to my problem after I replied to Klaus's post. Now I have three other options to think about: 1) "Within" function inside of a Repeat loop that checks all cont...

Re: Which objects are at a given screen location - SOLVED

Thanks Klaus. That's it. It "felt" like something that should already exist, but I wasn't having any luck finding it by googling. Thanks also for adding the enhancement request.

Everyone - Thanks for all of the alternative ideas. I picked up a fair bit of "Collateral Knowledge"

Regards

Re: Which objects are at a given screen location

Thanks Craig and Jeanne What I was wondering was whether there was already a built-in function that, if it was passed a pair of screen coordinates, would return a list of objects that overlapped this point. I realized that I could easily write such a function, but just: a) thought that it would be s...
