Dictionary Query

In the Dictionary under "repeat" do
the User Notes obscure part of the
info?

Does the entry for "for" really need
to have so much empty space?

Re: Compiling causes an antivirus alert!

Well, it still might be you. :) But chances are it's just a false-positive. Does updating Avast resolved it? As soon as I read your comment it struck me that there was an update after the problem last appeared and since then I've compiled a couple of programmes without Avast getting all agitated. I...

Re: Compiling causes an antivirus alert!

Thanks Richard. Pleased to find that it's not
me. At last something for which I can
disclaim any responsibility.

Compiling causes an antivirus alert!

I've had a problem (well, an inconvenience) when compiling my programmes when Avast Antivirus block the compile suggesting that my stack contains a nasty of some sort. I usually get around this by putting the .exe filename on the exceptions list but the last time this happened I had to turn Avast of...

Protecting your programme...

This is an unsolicited recommendation. Great programme for protecting your intellectual rights. http://www.oreans.com/winlicense.php There's a trial version which only allows your protected programme to run on the computer on which you protected it. Otherwise you can try all the features. Works with...

But neither would it work in the IDE.

Craig Newman

The periods aren't in the "real" code - just puts "" into
some fields and variables.

Re: Different sort of sort

@ Jacque, Dick. Nice. @Hermann. Really nice. All three of these should be combined as three instances of a solution to a problem, in a lesson in their own right. Craig What I would have said if I hadn't been so admiring of these solutions that I was left "speechless". Three cheers and a cigar to ea...

Re: Making a List Name

Do you mean the crash took down the whole computer? And you couldn't get it going again? That would be something the LC team would definitely want to know about. Don't think the two were related. BTW I was saved (not for the first time) by a great free untility http://www.aomeitech.com/onekey-recov...

Re: Making a List Name

Richard

I'm using LC 7.1.2 - like the Inspector!

Should my code as posted above have worked? I don't know.

After a rough seven hours getting my computer going
it was great to find that "value" did the trick.

Thank you.

Re: Making a List Name

You could also use "value": put nNumber is among the lines of value(xxx & "list") LC shouldn't ever crash though, so I'd report it and include your example script. Any crash is a major bug. Well, I think it's entirely my fault - or was it? The window which should have reported some comma-delimited ...

Re: A Very Strange Error

Made some progress on this. the loop... repeat with x = 16 to min(sCount,36) Somehow sCount wasn't what it should have been. Should be between 16 and 200(say). It was reduced to 2, so naturally the loop failed. Now I have to find where this change is occurring which brings me to my next question. Ha...
