Can I pass a reference to an array element?

LiveCoders, I read somewhere that you can't pass a reference to an array element, just the array itself. Is this still the case? What I would like to do is assemble and position on screen a few images that the user selects. Each time the user chooses the "Select Image" button I increase a value and ...

Don't worry, I got out of it what I wanted: learned how to use a Scrolled List ;-) ;-)

That said, I will proclaim jihad on anyone who does not think that controls are on the bottom of a hierarchal pyramid, with the engine at the top. Craig Not in my topic you're not! :P Go open your own jihad topic  Having said that, this type of jihad is of course the best there is ... I av...

Re: Design best practises - libraries, sub-stacks

Which side will you choose among these timeless tribes? And are you prepared to devote sufficient blogging time to defending your beliefs? Anything less may be heresy! Cor blimey! Well, for the time being I will just take in the arguments from both sides if you don't mind ;-) I think I'm grasping t...

Re: Design best practises - libraries, sub-stacks

Got a couple more design-related quessies which I've been playing with for a few days. Firstly, what I'd like to do is go to a certain card and pass that card 1 or more variables. I've read up on send and dispatch but I'm not sure whether this actually opens the card. And if it does, how do I access...

Pulldown menu's choices take up all of the card

Evening all! I'm playing with various aspects of interfaces and I noticed that a pulldown menu is not behaving like I want. The pulldown is positioned in an area along the top of the card adjacent to a few buttons. No matter where I place the buttons, as soon as the pulldown is activated on Android,...

Re: Design best practises - libraries, sub-stacks

Thanks for that reference Jack, that seems to answer my questions!

Coming from C and Perl, I really have to get used to the stack concept, but we're getting there slowly :D

Design best practises - libraries, sub-stacks

LiveCoders, Now that my try-outs with initial applications is advancing a little bit, I'm beginning to wonder about a couple of design questions and perhaps others have similar questions too? Where would I put commands/functions/handlers that are common to a number of cards? In the stack script? I s...

Re: First card ("splash") with visual effect not accessible

Vielen Dank Klaus! ;-)

Yes, the startup obviously has to do with it. Anyway I learned about something nice and practical about "send" in the process :-)

How can I add "Solved" to the title?

Wiederschauen!

Mich.

Klaus, you are a gem!! That works ...

Still wondering how that makes bringing up that first card any different, but using "send" is a cunning trick indeed :D

Re: First card ("splash") with visual effect not accessible

Hmmm unfortunately same thing: 1/4 size first card with the right effect, just wrong size. I tested a little and it appears that e.g. "iris close" does exactly the same thing. When I use it on the 2nd card to jump to the 3rd, it works well. It appears as if it's the first card (i.e. the opening of t...

Got it!! Just disable "messages" from the top menu does the trick ... Thanks for the suggestion Klaus, just about to try that.

Re: Rescaling a selected image from album on Android

Playing with that rotate/angle stuff right now, but this "flipping" thing is pretty resilient it appears ;-) When I get to grips with it I'll post of course. Thanks a zillion so far!
