Re: On-Rev server hosting (Solved)

Nope...critical support had not rectified the problem after a business day which is why I demanded a refund. 2-3 days for ANY request at any host is just TOTALLY ridiculous in today's hosting world even charging half the amount you do.

Re: On-Rev server hosting (Solved)

Its a bit sad to see that poor support is still an issue. I had to cancel my on rev account for the same reason (and the fact the the advertised console app doesn't work). 2-3 days for support at ANY host is just unheard of. Almost any serious host measures support in terms of hours not days. That t...

Re: We're Funding LiveCode For the Web

First congratulations for looking ahead I don't think I am quite understanding this though. HTML5 has become standard and is already integrated into app development in a number of tools. Why is this separate rather than a necessary later upgrade to keep pace with the industry? Live code is already b...

Re: LiveCode vs Xojo licenses

"And not only me, but all others participating, or maybe even leeching, will profit of the work done." the community here is not centered around your software though so the idea that you are going to have lots of people invested in your software most likely will not be the case. You seem to be confu...

Re: LiveCode School

Whether you paid for it all up front or monthly its still a great deal. Quite a bit of great training so far and the one on one time you can schedule is what puts it over the top for me. I haven't even been able to participate in the Q/A chat sessions and its still been worth it so far.

Re: LiveCode vs Xojo licenses

You mentioned "if no one purchases the product regularly" . That was very close to what I was pondering: what IS the likely tradeoff between (1) requiring annual fees and possibly not getting as many takers and (2) requiring proper upgrade fees for new LC builds but leaving versions as they are and...

Re: LiveCode vs Xojo licenses

Only two things: the right to proprietary code, and the right to distribute in Apple stores. You won't lose the ability to continue working. If your work involves a commercial app its hard to see how you can consider that either an "only" or an "ability to continue working". i think thats the point...

Re: LiveCode vs Xojo licenses

. So, once you developed a software using the commercial license, you are locked-in forever! Pretty much but that isn't an unfair thing if you are making money. We have to consider the user base and their economics. It very well might not be just good for the company but necessary for them to stay ...

Re: LiveCode vs Xojo licenses

As a newb that recently looked at and compared the two and decided to proceed with livecode (surprise to a few people especially on the mailing list :) ) I will weigh in as an outside perspective. I got and understood the licensing so it was not too confusing or misleading. I can't fault the runrev ...

Re: Critical mass

Here's a quote from an earlier posting of yours: " If Jacque cannot point to me where I said that Revrun was lying" I can see the word 'lying' there. So if I was referring to someone else claiming that I said Revrun was lying it means that I was saying that revrun was lying. What are you? Like 6 ye...

"As the two top cases are real, well-documented and easily accessible I'm not sure why you are writing about people telling lies." WHAT IN THE WORLD IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE. HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND? HAVE YOU NO SHAME? You think if you can lie about me saying something I never said enough you can ma...

Your style is just too much, though. Do you not see this at all? Craig you don't even know my style. Be sensible. you know nothing about me but a few posts here. Is it accurate that my posts show a certain amount of displeasure and then attitude with how this community handles people who ask questi...

Re: Critical mass

Some of us have been working with the product, or its predecessor, for 20 years or more. It's natural to feel loyalty to a product that is so empowering, and that isn't a bad thing. What we rarely see here are personal attacks though. I have and against those that are new asking questions that you ...

Re: Critical mass

Most healthy companies tell the stories of their successful customers, and RunRev does too. This is not because anyone imagines LiveCode is the sole defining factor of that success, . More straw. No? then show me anywhere I ever used the word "sole" "guaranteed" or any of the other stuff you are dr...

Re: Critical mass

I had taken the time to reply to your post because I had assumed it was in earnest................................. Thank you for clarifying that your issue is actually with some copy on a page at a LiveCode site. You may mod this board but you don't get to tell me what my issue actually is and imp...
