Re: RaspberryPi

Hi bertherd, The most likely issue is that many (most?) RPi distributions use a framebuffer with 16-bit colour by default and LiveCode expects 32-bit colour. If you add the following lines to your /boot/config.txt file, it should resolve the problem with the window being black: framebuffer_depth=32 ...

Re: RaspberryPi

Hi Andrew, I'm afraid I don't have an estimate for when that might happen. I'll have to take a look at the standalone builder in the IDE to see how easy/difficult such a modification might be. Changes to the IDE are a bit more problematic than changing the rest of the engine, unfortunately, so such ...

Re: Building on Linux

The advantage is that it definitely checks out those branches on the submodules. I have a feeling that the develop and master branches of the main repo still point to the 6.1.x versions of the submodules (which won't work for 6.5.x). When I'm back in the office on Monday, I'll make sure everything i...

Re: RaspberryPi

Knowing the answer to such a question is way beyond my pay grade ;) Given that Scotland in February is overcast approximately 100% of the time, you'd be hard pushed to find somewhere that isn't sunnier... Svalbard, maybe. I have no doubt there will be problems with the build - I've not had too much ...

Re: LiveCode and the RaspberryPi

Sorry to engage in the thread necromancy but a build of LiveCode for RaspberryPi is now available. See http://downloads.livecode.com/livecode/pi/ for the build or https://github.com/runrevfraser/livecode/blob/feature-rpi/docs/RPi.md for instructions on building it yourself. Please note that this is ...

Re: Building on Linux

Hi again MaxV,

It is possible that the submodule pointers haven't been updated properly for the submodules in our GitHub repo. Try the following:

Code: Select all

cd prebuilt
git checkout develop
cd ../ide
git checkout develop
cd ../thirdparty
git checkout develop
And hopefully that will help.

Re: Building wuthout prebuilt directory

If the copied files are newer than the files from which they get generated, the Makefile won't re-generate them so the pre-built tools won't get called. You could disable the lines in the Makefile that cause them to be generated but having the build fail due to trying to re-generate them is a helpfu...

Re: Building wuthout prebuilt directory

The LiveCode IDE isn't exactly blindingly fast on the RPi but it's not bad. Certainly fun to play around with. If you have any other questions, please feel free to get in touch. We don't officially support RPi but I'm willing to help out when I have the time. There are probably a few RPi-specific bu...

Building for RaspberryPi

Hi MaxV, I'll answer your questions in reverse order: the perfect.lnx executable is a perfect hash generator; it generates a hash table (in the form of a C++ source file) used for looking up script keywords efficiently. As you rightly point out, it is an x86 executable and won't run on the Raspberry...
